At Coursera, our Marketing team is responsible for brand development, new learner acquisition and retention, degree marketing, and enterprise marketing. Coursera is looking for a full-time Full Stack Developer with a passion for launching marketing campaigns and staying on top of trending technologies. This developer will collaborate closely with a small in-house team to create scalable web pages and emails, and advance design systems in order to promote Cousera’s mission of revolutionizing online education around the world. As a champion of forward-thinking solutions, this person will collaborate and communicate with non-technical team members to align on scope of work and suggest solutions. Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality, well-structured, well-documented code, and communicate your work effectively with creative leads, developers and marketing partners
  • Identify and solve complex technical issues while driving innovations that improve system availability, security, and performance in order to help millions of potential learners around the world
  • Design and implement scalable data structures, APIs and UI components: from scoping functional and technical requirements, to launch and long-term maintenance while ensuring compliance with client information security and data privacy standards
  • Develop and support multi-technology web properties with modern frontend libraries and frameworks (Contentful, React/Gatsby, Wordpress)
  • Design and build scalable data extensions to match to reusable content blocks in system-wide lifecycle and one-time emails (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Ampscript, JSON) 
  • Set up Coursera’s Marketing Dev Team & tech stack for long-term success by implementing features such as instrumentation, altering, logging, and help craft a vision for future engineering approaches

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years in a software development role, with at least 2+ years in a Full Stack role 
  • Experience working with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Demonstrated history working with server-side languages and relational databases (Wordpress/MySQL/PostgreSQL/MS SQL/etc.)
  • Experience working with an enterprise-level Email Service Provider tool (Salesforce, Marketo, or the like); and has worked with proprietary marketing data models and data extensions
  • Demonstrable history engineering workflow best practices, including version control (Github), documentation, agile, and code review.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Accessibility
  • Salesforce & Marketing Cloud Developer Certification
  • Hands on experience with deployment automation tools such as Jenkins
  • Hands on experience with Google Tag Manager or other web analytics services preferred
