We are searching for an experienced IT Leader to build and grow the Quality Assurance, User Experience, Release Management and Change Management functions at Zayo. You will be responsible for defining processes, tools, best practices and developing teams and leaders. The best candidates will be a self-starter with a proven record of building collaborative teams, improving process maturity and delivering continuous improvement in our application quality.
Essential functions
This role will oversee four major functions: Software Quality Assurance (QA), Release Management (RM), Change Management(CM), and User Experience (UI/UX).
Leads a team that manages standard quality assurance processes and direction for systems integration, functional, regression, end-to-end, and performance testing. Provides quality support for both internally developed applications as well as third-party applications.
Lead a team that will create and manage the release calendar, defining release schedules across the application portfolio.
Leads a team that defines segregation of duty controls, go-Live activities, process improvement, impact analysis, communications plans, training plans, stakeholder engagement roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables, including approval mechanisms.
Leads a team that delivers a low-friction User Experience process that moves business and product concepts from inception through design elaboration, development, QA and finally into production.
Conduct regularly scheduled touchpoints and targeted meetings based on rollout schedule to manage change and collect feedback.
Responsible for optimizing processes and creating an environment for a high-performance team(s), defining, generating, and refining team specific metrics.
Conduct ongoing assessment and reinforcement activities to refine approaches and build action plans based on trends, best practices, and gaps.
Mentor team members, evaluate their performance and develop and monitor their career plan.
Develop department plans and manage group performance, KPIs, SLAs, OLAs, etc.
Create and drive a strategy to automate testing as much as possible across all core applications.
Work with cross-functional stakeholders including technical and non-technical.
Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality.
Facilitate executive briefing to ensure active and visible sponsorship.
Qualifications
Seven years of experience in a technology leadership position.
Bachelor’s in Information Systems or related field.
Experience leading QA teams and developing QA processes in a collaborative environment.
Experience leading User Experience programs.
Experience leading Change Management and Release functions.
Demonstrated experience with all aspects of unit, functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Knowledge of full-stack development technologies including web-based services that include .NET/JAVA, JavaScript, SQL querying, etc.
Ability to develop, recruit and manage talent.
Direct supervisory experience required.
Champion and lead teams to have an inclusive culture of learning, continuous improvement, and execution.
Ability to collaborate cross-team to improve processes.
Experience managing outsource vendors.
Experience onboarding outsource vendors
Effective communicator in person, remote and hybrid.
Working knowledge of development techniques, a general coding background.
Experience managing projects and workforce using agile/scrum.
Technical Skills
Experience with automated functional, load, volume, and/or stress testing
Working knowledge of web application test tools or frameworks (e.g. Cypress, Selenium, Testim, etc.)
Experience with wireframing tools and techniques.
Understanding and experience with an Agile SDLC.
Good analytical skills.
CO base pay range: $118,400-$173,700
