Determined, imaginative, curious—if these are some of the ways you describe yourself, we want to learn more about you!

At TC Energy, we are proud to connect the world to the energy it needs. Guided by our values of safety in every step, personal accountability, one team and active learning, we deliver the critical energy that North America and the world rely on while balancing reliability, affordability and sustainability.

The Opportunity

Our Canada Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Rotations Program is looking to add three early-career engineering professionals to join TC Energy through structured rotational roles in:

  • Project Engineering
  • Facilities Reliability & Integrity (FRI) Engineering
  • Pipeline Integrity (PI) Engineering

The program has opportunities for new graduate engineers in our various regional and field offices including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Calgary, Alberta
  • Winnipeg, Manitoba
  • Eastern Canada locations in Ontario and Quebec

The Canada EIT Rotations Program is a structured development program designed to strengthen TC Energy’s future engineering talent pipeline by providing early-career engineers with planned cross-functional experience, field exposure, and progressive responsibility. Participants will gain broad technical, operational, and business experience while building the capabilities required to support professional licensure and long-term career growth at TC Energy.

Successful candidates will be hired into the Canada EIT Rotations Program and assigned to an initial rotational placement in one of the three participating organizations listed above. These are rotational development positions, not permanent placements into a single team, location, or discipline. Participants are expected to complete multiple rotational assignments during the Program, with individual rotations typically lasting up to 24 months. Rotational assignments may include office-based work, field exposure, field-based assignments, operational support, and potential relocation depending on business and development needs.

Participation in rotational moves and assignment transitions is an expected component of the Canada EIT Rotations Program. Progression through rotational assignments and final placement decisions will be determined through Program governance processes and will consider business needs, workforce planning priorities, participant performance, demonstrated capabilities, professional licensure readiness, career interests, and available opportunities at the time. Candidates should be prepared to move between approved rotational assignments throughout the Program.

What you’ll do

Depending on your initial rotational assignment and future rotations, you may:

  • Support engineering work in Project Engineering, Facilities Reliability & Integrity, Pipeline Integrity, or other approved rotational areas.
  • Contribute to engineering design, project execution, technical assessments, integrity management, reliability initiatives, operational support, and asset lifecycle activities.
  • Apply engineering principles to support safe, reliable, compliant, and efficient operation of TC Energy assets.
  • Participate in technical studies, field reviews, investigations, risk assessments, engineering evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with engineers, technologists, operations teams, project teams, contractors, vendors, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Build practical engineering experience through field exposure, operational activities, and cross-functional assignments.
  • Develop engineering judgment, technical capability, business awareness, and professional practice experience in support of future licensure.
  • Participate in planned rotation transitions, onboarding activities, knowledge transfer, and development discussions.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and commitment to completing rotational assignments as part of the Program.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university program
  • Registered, or eligible to register, as an Engineer-in-Training with the applicable provincial engineering regulator.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship, co-op, field, project, operations, integrity, pipeline, facility, or energy industry experience.
  • Interest in developing a career in energy infrastructure, engineering practice, project execution, asset integrity, reliability, or operations support.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, accountability, adaptability, and commitment to active learning.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Interest in gaining broad technical and business experience across multiple engineering functions.

This position requires candidates to:

  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to participate in a structured rotational development program, including assignments across different teams, functions, locations, and work environments, which may involve working in the field, travel, overnight stays, temporary assignments, and relocation as required.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract for review.
  • Successfully complete all required pre-employment screening, which may include criminal, credit, medical, drug and alcohol, or other background checks depending on role requirements and applicable law.

To remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. #LI-Hybrid

Relocation Eligibility: This position is eligible for TC Energy's Domestic Relocation Program. Relocation assistance may be provided in accordance with company policy where relocation is required to support the initial assignment or a subsequent rotational placement within the Canada EIT Rotations Program.
