Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Systems Architect Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) family of programs. This individual contributor role is located in Melbourne, FL.
Responsibilities will include deploying, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the systems and software infrastructure. The role requires you to have hands on technical experience focused on automation with continuous improvements. You will be a team member working in agile development process. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of application builds, releases, and deployments along with configuration activities. The candidate will also assist with the integration, troubleshooting and testing of implemented hardware and software changes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to take ownership of an ambiguous challenges and drive to a solution, while working in a team environment. You will also support automated testing to facilitate and analyze large data sets.
The Systems Architect Engineer will develop, modify, and maintain customized or standardized applications using engineering best practices and standards, and participate in the full system engineering lifecycle to include requirements development, modeling and design, application and prototype development, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to take ownership of hard problems and drive to a solution, while working in a team environment and provide leadership for its implementation. Additional responsibilities will include being able to run the E-2 software and communicate any issues back to the Melbourne team when on travel. The Systems Architect Engineer will apply technical expertise in solving complex integrations problems. This position requires interfacing between systems analysts/programmers and users located in a specialized area to ensure that information technology designs meet the needs of the end users within an organization. You will document product/service requirements and develop test procedures to ensure user requests are carried out. The Systems Architect Engineer will interact with Program Management, and/or government customers. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required. Experience in bash scripting, C/C++, or other OOP languages, in a Linux environment is preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 2 or more years of experience OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
- Development experience with Bash or other Linux scripting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and Strong interpersonal skills.
- Development experience with software and system test
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- The ability to obtain and maintain special program access is also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Development experience with C/C++ or other OOP languages.
- Development experience with Windows and Linux
- Experience with the Atlassian tool suite with add-ons including Git and Confluence
- Experience with Ansible Designs and develops system architectures, and defines key capabilities and performance requirements. Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications. Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces. Defines system implementation approach and operational concept. Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer.
