Team: Structures- Architecture & Concept Analysis
The Architecture & Concept Analysis team is a part of the Analysis group under the Structures department and plays a key role in demonstrating emerging technology readiness levels and developing innovative solutions for design and development of current and future aircraft programmes
Job scope (core activities):
Evaluate emerging technologies in aircraft structures and demonstrate their readiness level for aircraft applications
Propose new architectures, concepts and explore disruptive and incremental innovation
Design and material trade-off analysis for new and legacy Airbus programmes
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, refine, and document requirements, even when initial inputs are incomplete or uncertain
Develop solutions that meet the requirements of engineering, manufacturing, assembly, cost and time to market
Perform preliminary design and sizing studies using legacy methods, hand calculations and FEM
Validate preliminary design and suggest modifications in case of low reserve factors
Linear and non-linear static and fatigue stress justifications
Collaborate with other groups within Airframe / Structures such as materials, system installation for end to end solutions
Required Domain Expertise:
Very strong fundamentals in strength of materials / theory of elasticity, engineering mathematics, finite element method, aircraft structures - metallic and composite, Non linear FEA
Hands on experience in trade studies, sizing, non-linear analysis of aircraft primary and secondary structures
Technically competent with structural design principles
Stress analysis of metallic and composite structures
Scripting for post processing and FE model building
Experience in handling DFEM and GFEM - understanding input deck, troubleshooting errors
Interpreting engineering drawings is desirable
Writing subroutines in FORTRAN is desirable
Tools: Hypermesh, Abaqus, Nastran, Python, ISAMI(optional), MATLAB (optional), FORTRAN (optional)
Qualification:
Graduate/Post graduate (Aerospace/Aeronautical OR Mechanical/Civil/Manufacturing/Production with aircraft work experience only)

Skills Required
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Aerospace/Aeronautical or Mechanical/Civil/Manufacturing/Production (with aircraft work experience)
- 4-6 years relevant experience in aircraft structures
