Role accountabilities:
- Experience of working on highway structures and Road bridge design with structural analysis and design tools, involving standard structural designs for highways, railways, and related civil or utility works.
- Have experience to work collaboratively with project leads and reviewers on complex or major projects, actively seeking their feedback and consistently delivering value-added solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Have good understanding of structural analysis and design concepts
- Willing to learn new software like Microstation, Open Bridge modeler, Open Bridge designer, etc.
- Ensure quality by verifying and self-checking design submittals prepared and collaborate with senior staff as needed to deliver acceptable outcomes, in accordance with project requirements. Prepare design reports, check drawings, compute quantities and reinforcement schedule, etc.
- Support the project lead to manage programme timelines, budgets, and health & safety requirements across all projects as needed.
- Develop effective working relationships with other disciplines and senior colleagues in GEC, USA and with any other region, if necessary.
Required Specific Competencies:
- Confident in working independently, with strong influencing, motivating, and delegating skills. Possesses excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Fair Knowledge of US (AASHTO/ACI), LRFD, DMRB, British and Euro Codes and design standards and delivery processes of ANA (Atlantic North America) region.
- Should have knowledge of design of prestressed and steel composite bridges, covering different type of structures such as vehicular, pedestrian and utility bridges.
- Conceptualizing, Designing, co-ordinating highway, railway and civil and utility structures using available digital tools and should be able to validate through alternative means, if necessary, by applying basic engineering principles.
- Knowledge of MIDAS Civil, STAAD Pro, SAM LEAP, Autocad, Leap Concrete, Leap Steel, MathCad, Microstation, FDOT, GDOT
- Design standard tools, HEC-RAS, Hydrology tools and Proconcrete will be an advantage
- Experienced in utilizing various analysis methods—including FEA, grillage models, line diagrams, and basic geometry formation—as required by the task and validating results throughout the work progress.
- Fair knowledge of BIM process, common data environment and its application on the delivery project is must. Candidate should have working knowledge of software such as Revit, MicroStation, ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
- Should be able to work on integration of design and drafting tools for the delivery of the project
Qualification & Experience:
- Post-Graduation in Civil/Structure Engineering
- A candidate with 5 years of relevant experience in the design of highway and rail bridges and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, civil works and utility structures.
