We are seeking Engineer Staff, HW Development to support the development, integration, debugging, and system-level validation of high-speed optical modules.

This role will focus on module integration testing and performance optimization across key optical and electrical components, including lasers, DSPs, PICs, TIAs, drivers, and associated control circuits. The ideal candidate will have experience in optical module integration, high-speed PAM4 systems, optical communication standards, performance troubleshooting, and cross-functional problem-solving.

Hands-on experience with optical transceiver testing across EVT, EDVT, DVT, ODVT, and FVT phases is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute R&D test plans for high-speed optical modules throughout EVT, EDVT, DVT, ODVT, and customer qualification phases.
• Perform integration debugging and performance optimization of optical modules.
• Lead module-level performance tuning by correlating optical and electrical measurements, DSP status, register settings, telemetry data, and system-level results.
• Define, review, and maintain test plans, test specifications, test cases, validation reports, and debug documentation.
• Perform system-level validation involving optical modules, switches, traffic testers, reference modules, optical fibers, and test equipment.
• Apply relevant optical communication standards and specifications, including IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standards and CMIS 5.2/5.3 management specifications.
• Lead design of experiments (DOE), performance optimization, and root-cause analysis in collaboration with optical, hardware, DSP, firmware, system, supplier, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Support the selection, procurement, installation, calibration, and validation of test equipment, fixtures, and R&D test stations.
• Support customer sample testing, ODVT data preparation, customer issue analysis, and technical report generation.
• Serve as the test owner or test lead for assigned programs, track test progress and open issues, and proactively drive project milestones to completion.

Desired Knowledge and Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, in optical communications, optical module development, high-speed electronics, or R&D testing.
• Strong understanding of optical module architecture and key components, including lasers, PICs, TOSA, ROSA, DSPs, drivers, TIAs, SerDes, MPDs, and module management interfaces.
• Experience with optical module integration, performance debugging, parameter tuning, and system-level optimization.
• Ability to read and interpret test specifications, register definitions, technical documentation, and product requirements.
• Strong capabilities in test planning, test data analysis, failure reporting, and technical documentation.
• Experience with Python, JMP, Excel, or other data analysis and test automation tools is preferred.
• Strong communication, coordination, learning, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Good English proficiency, equivalent to CET-6 or above, including reading, speaking, and writing.
