The Role
Designs and verifies electronics and PCBs for semiconductor SSD test equipment, including digital (FPGA, PCIe, DDR) and analog/power designs, signal/power integrity analysis, prototype development, debugging with lab instruments, DFM/DFT coordination, and supporting NPI and released designs.

Assesses current and future technology requirements in order to identify strategic opportunities for design and process improvements within Micron. Perform decision analysis and feasibility studies on proposed projects and tasks. Define design requirements for tasks and projects that consider end user needs, statutory requirements, and business needs. Assess workload and resources required to implement a design and work with a cross functional team to plan for and execute on project deliverables. Perform design and development work to meet project or task requirements. Help define manufacturing and engineering support solutions. Plan, build, and refine prototype designs including test and verification. Document and control designs. Support prototype qualification by the customer including deployment, design changes, and issue resolution. Manage engineering changes using version control processes. Support released designs for issues or additional design and development requests.
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Position requires:
1. Developing, designing, and verifying electronics for use in semiconductor test equipment;
2. Designing PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) and electronic systems including oversight of board layout and artwork;
3. Designing digital circuits and logic such as FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays), communication buses like PCIe Express, and memory interfaces like DDR (dual data rate DRAM memory);
4. Conducting power supply subsystem design and analog circuit design;
5. Performing signal and power integrity analysis and simulation using tools such as hyper lynx;
6. Working with the manufacturing and NPI teams to ensure compliance with DFM (Design for Manufacturability and DFT (Design for Testability) requirements;
7. Debugging and analyzing electronics using laboratory tools including oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, power supplies, probes, logic analyzers and other lab measurement equipment;
8. Designing, developing, and building SSD test equipment;
9. Performing design of experiments and writing reports with specific knowledge around SSD test equipment based on PCIe protocols; and
10. Working with SSD test equipment including debug, design, assembly, and operation.
The US base salary range that Micron Technology, Inc. estimates it could pay for this full-time position is $ 150,545.00 - $ 191,000.00 . For additional pay & benefits information, please refer to the requisition at Micron.com/careers.
