We are looking for a talented Engineer – Collaboration Services Platform Automation Specialist to join our team specializing in Information Technology for our CUMMINS in Guadalajara, Jalisco, MX. (Hybrid role: 3 days on site, 2 days home office).
Job Summary
The Engineer – Collaboration Services Platform Specialist is a strategic technical role within the Digital Workplace Platforms team, focused on advancing collaboration technologies across Cummins. This role will define, build, and communicate technical and architectural vision for the Collaboration Services Platform to ensure systems and solutions are fit for purpose and meet business requirements. Working closely with the Platform Manager and other team members to ensure ongoing modernization and integrated collaboration platforms. This role is embedded within the Collaboration Services team, which supports platforms such as Microsoft 365, Zoom, Box, Adobe, and SharePoint.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical vision and architectural strategy, providing technical support for end-user issues and concerns for the Collaboration Services Platform (Microsoft 365, Zoom, Box, SharePoint, etc.) to ensure future scalability, performance, and compliance.
- Support in the Administration of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Entra ID/Azure AD), Zoom (Meetings, Zoom Phone, Zoom Rooms), Box, Adobe Acrobat/Sign, and Power Platform tools.
- Drive automation of deployments, configuration management, patching, license provisioning, user lifecycle management, and alerting using PowerShell, Python, or relevant scripting tools.
- Collaborate with Product Teams and Architects to ensure infrastructure aligns with Agile architecture and DevOps best practices, including Continuous Delivery Pipelines.
- Develop automation workflows for CI/CD pipelines, testing, and platform monitoring.
- Handle platform migrations, onboarding of acquired companies, and rationalization of collaboration technologies.
- Contribute to projects for Enterprise Content Management, PowerApps, and data integration.
- Partner with the Enterprise Monitoring and Automation Specialists to build intelligent alerting systems that preemptively address end-user collaboration issues.
- Apply Systems Thinking and Requirements Engineering principles to assess technical feasibility, risk, and long-term value of solutions.
- Maintain high performance, reliability, and user satisfaction standards while reducing operational overhead through automation.
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and legal/regulatory policies affecting collaboration platforms and communications.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Collaboration Platform Administration – Deep experience with Microsoft 365, Zoom, SharePoint, Teams, Box, and Adobe administration.
- Unified Communications Knowledge – Understanding of cloud VoIP, Zoom Phone, telephony infrastructure, and integration with other collaboration tools.
- Power Platform & APIs – Familiarity with Microsoft PowerApps, Power Automate, and Microsoft Graph API for platform customization and automation.
- Scripting & Automation – Strong PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripting skills, including deployment automation and system orchestration.
- Monitoring & Analytics – Ability to set up platform monitoring, track license usage, identify inactive accounts, and generate actionable reports.
