You will be joining the SummitPro product line.  This team consists of engineers and designers to provide gold and silver recovery systems and equipment around the globe.  Our multidisciplinary team consists of process, mechanical, electrical, structural engineers and designers working together to meet the high expectations of our clients.  We engineer high quality equipment and systems to meet the demanding needs of the precious metals industry for today and years to come.  We strive to become the leading equipment provider in the precious metals recovery market 

Role Description: 

  • The Lead product engineer is responsible to maintain product integrity, ensure products meet customer specifications, and manage the engineering deliverables of sold projects.
  • The Lead product engineer will provide expert judgement and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.  This engineer will also be responsible for engineering project management and overall design integrity of product while ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements. 

SummitPro Lead Product Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Drive and manage SummitPro proprietary products.
  • Perform value engineering efforts to improve safety and quality, reduce equipment fabrication costs and improve delivery time of products.
  • Perform engineering calculations, FEA analysis, develop product models and drawings in collaboration with design team(s).
  • Thoroughly understand client needs and specifications in product and project executions to ensure requirements are met.  
  • Manage deliverables and collaborate with team on execution of ADR and Refinery systems projects.
  • Collaborate with EPC’s and contract engineering teams to execute project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with FLS technical teams in Automation, Electrical and Process as required.
  • Provide engineering support to sales, PLM and marketing teams; active support for proposal development.
  • Contribute to team improvement initiatives.
  • Work with and advise IOD PM and customers on technical matters related to the products
  • Together with IOD PM, plan and organize engineering activities for the successful completion of sold projects
  • Work with procurement to review and approve vendor information drawings and documentation
  • Supervise technical answers to the RFI’s / NCR´s from suppliers and customers
  • Manage all engineering releases to Procurement Planning required for a particular project schedule across all engineering disciplines
  • Responsible to contribute to, support, and adhere to design standards, guide specifications, and design control procedures
  • Reviews and approves design drawings including 3D
  • Reviews customer specifications
  • Participates actively in team environment and contributes to successful completion of team goals
  • Assists operations with manufacturing problems and implementation of low-cost sourcing initiatives
  • May provide engineering product support at client mine sites (pre-commissioning, commissioning, troubleshooting, productivity/efficiency improvement).
  • May assist in development of design standards /guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures
  • Analyses complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures

Expected Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge and experience in product engineering and design.
  • An innovative approach to product development.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of product development and project execution.
  • Proficient in developing product models, parts, assemblies and drawings.
  • Technical engineering knowledge to collaborate with process, electrical and automation teams.
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with core discipline design teams to achieve a working solution to problems and/or design issues.
  • Reading and understand GA’s, assembly, detail drawings, P&IDs and electrical schematics.
  • BE Degree in Mechanical engineering or relevant experience. 
  • 7-10 years in product engineering and project related experience.

Skills Required

  • BE Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience
  • 7-10 years in product engineering and project related experience
