Join our dynamic team at Micron as an Operations Improvement Engineer in Boise, ID, where you will play a pivotal role in advancing our manufacturing processes. Responsibilities:
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to optimize Fab processes and eliminate inefficiencies, with a focus on automated production movement systems.
- Collaborate with Fab Operations, IT, and cross-functional Operations Improvement teams (Automation, Scheduling, Applications) to deliver scalable, high-impact automation solutions
- Define and deliver a decision-support and workflow automation framework that blends human expertise with analytics and AI/ML.
- Partner with management to deliver data analysis, advanced production web reports, and applications that improve production metrics.
- Build and lead automation projects that eliminate manual operations tasks, reducing effort, shortening cycle time, accelerating root-cause analysis, and improving decision quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations, and report any safety-related concerns immediately.
Minimum Qualifications:
- MS in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, Computer Science, Data Science, or a BS degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of core database management methods, covering both relational (SQL, Snowflake) and NoSQL (MongoDB) data stores.
- Proven ability to plan, drive, and complete projects effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex analysis succinctly.
- Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and problem-solving.
- Understanding of Manufacturing Science including scheduling, inventory management, and capacity planning.
- Working knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, C#, Perl, Python. (SQL and Python preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills.
- Experience leading decision-support, workflow automation, or data engineering initiatives in complex environments.
- End-to-end software development knowledge.
- Experience building and deploying end-to-end ML systems, or strong interest in developing production-grade ML automation.
- Hands-on experience designing, querying, and optimizing relational and No SQL databases in production environments.
