We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead and inspire our technical teams. In this role, you will play a crucial part in planning, designing, and delivering high-quality software solutions while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. The ideal candidate is an experienced manager who excels in balancing technical leadership with effective team management, ensuring alignment with business and product goals in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
- People Management: Oversee individual and team development, conduct performance evaluations, and provide career growth opportunities.
- Technical Excellence: Plan, design, and execute scalable and maintainable technical solutions, ensuring high code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication and alignment with Product, Design, and Business teams to achieve shared objectives.
- Technical Ownership: Manage technical debt, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold engineering standards in architecture, security, and processes.
- Agile Practices: Coordinate team activities using agile methodologies (SCRUM/Kanban) to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
- Problem-Solving: Collaborate with your team to identify, diagnose, and resolve technical challenges in complex systems.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into technical requirements.
- Strategic Impact: Contribute to the technical strategy and long-term planning of the engineering organization.
Requirements:
Hard Skills:
- At least 5+ years of experience developing complex, high-performance enterprise software using modern web technologies.
- Proven hands-on experience with Java (Spring/SpringBoot) and/or React.
- Expertise with relational and NoSQL databases in high-performance scenarios.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Experience with AWS or another cloud provider.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and tools like Git/GitHub.
- Experience with large-scale, high-concurrency message processing technologies (e.g., Kafka).
- Exposure to financial applications or platforms is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed technical trade-offs.
Soft Skills:
- At least 3+ years of proven experience leading high-performance technical teams.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop engineers across various levels of seniority.
- Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a strong plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Open to change, dynamic, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
