We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance and Data Quality Engineer to ensure the reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness of enterprise data assets. This role combines traditional data quality and governance practices with modern data observability capabilities, leveraging tools such as Informatica Cloud Data Quality (CDQ) and Monte Carlo.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in data quality development and governance, along with hands-on experience implementing proactive monitoring, anomaly detection, and pipeline observability across cloud-based data ecosystems. This individual will collaborate closely with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver high-quality, trusted data at scale.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data quality and governance solutions using Informatica Cloud Data Quality (CDQ), ensuring compliance and data reliability.
- Implement data quality rules, processes, and dashboards within the WESCO toolset (e.g., Informatica CDQ: Data Profiling, Mapplets, Rules, Integrations).
- Perform data profiling and analysis to identify and assess potential data quality issues.
- Develop and execute data quality tests aligned with business requirements to ensure data is fit for purpose.
- Provide expertise in data quality best practices to improve overall data quality across multiple data sources.
- Define and maintain metadata standards; validate, cleanse, and ensure accuracy of project data.
- Develop ETL pipelines and write advanced SQL (e.g., procedures, views, joins, unions, subqueries) to support data extraction and transformation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and implement data integration and migration solutions.
- Define and execute processes to monitor data quality policies and procedures, ensuring data integrity, privacy, and consistent data definitions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Quality Engineer/Developer, including validating data for fitness of purpose.
- 5+ years of experience assessing data quality, remediating issues, and designing data quality rules based on business requirements.
- Proficiency in Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), including Cloud Data Integration and Cloud Data Quality.
- Experience with data quality policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Experience with Monte Carlo (data observability) is a plus.
- Experience working with Databricks is a plus.
- Experience with Python scripting and APIs is a plus.
- Experience with Power BI is a plus.
