LOCATION: 355 River Oaks Parkway, San Jose, CA 95134
TITLE: Engineer III, Software
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
DUTIES: • Design, test, integrate and oversee deployment of automated provisioning, modification, and de-provisioning of declarative infrastructure and configuration in resilient and highly available environments.
- Develop unit and integrate tests for IaC and custom software to verify infrastructure and service configuration and performance.
- Design and build automation tooling to provision and maintain Kubernetes environments in private cloud and on premises for maximum reliability, performance, and extensibility.
- Design and build custom Helm charts and CI/CD pipelines for development teams to support Kubernetes deployments to Cloud and on- premises hybrid infrastructure.
- Support automation tooling to provision and maintain Kubernetes environments in cloud and on premises for maximum reliability, performance, and extensibility.
- Strengthen our product offerings related to application delivery and overall SDLC with hands on coding including unit and integration tests for infrastructure and deployments.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering team members and scientific platform stakeholders.
- Stay up to date with new DevSecOps technologies and processes, and determine how to translate these into future capabilities for our teams and product managers.
- Participate in technical and code reviews, architectural decisions, and conduct troubleshooting to ensure up-time for live systems.
- Develop declarative build and release pipelines with Azure DevOps, Pipelines, Jenkins, or similar
REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM Education Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related field of study.
MINIMUM Experience Requirement:
- 5 years of experience in systems architecture and systems testing, DevSecOps, Software Engineering or related experience.
Alternative Education and Experience Requirement:
- Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related field of study plus 3 years of experience in systems architecture and systems testing, DevSecOps, Software Engineering or related experience. Required knowledge or experience with:

- Multi-cloud and on premises K8s experience;
- Kubernetes cluster architecture, scheduling, networking, and storage (3 years);
- Linux, Docker, and automation scripting in Bash, Python (AWS CDK, boto) or terraform;
- Authoring Helm charts and supporting micro services team deployments;
- GitOps Continuous Deployment practices and declarative infrastructure;
- Prometheus, Grafana or similar SaaS tool such as Google, Cloud Monitoring, Datadog, and AWS CloudWatch;
- Public cloud environments - AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AW, web application; and
- Security best practices.
Salary: $170,767 to $207,500 per year

Compensation and Benefits
The salary pay range estimated for this position Engineer III, Software based inCalifornia is $170,767.00–$207,500.00.
