Job Description:

We are looking for a Firmware Engineer with a strong focus on firmware validation and testing frameworks for embedded systems used in power electronics applications. This role will work closely with firmware, hardware, and controls teams to ensure robust, reliable, and certifiable software across a wide range of embedded system applications. 
 

Responsibilities 

  • Contribute to firmware and software design, development, and implementation;

  • Develop and maintain firmware testing infrastructure and automation frameworks;

  • Support firmware and software verification and validation activities;

  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams, including firmware, hardware, controls, and systems engineering. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree in these areas is a plus;

  • Experience in firmware development, including validation of real-time embedded systems and laboratory testing;

  • Familiarity with real-time system constraints, including interrupt handling, task scheduling, and deterministic behavior;

  • Basic knowledge of power electronics systems;

  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python;

  • Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet, and Modbus;

  • Experience with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and/or SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) environments is highly desirable;

  • Experience with Git and version control systems;

  • Hands-on experience with, or a strong interest in, building agentic AI systems is a plus;

  • Advanced English proficiency.

Skills Required

  • Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering (Power Electronics, Control Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 4 years experience as an embedded software developer with embedded systems architecture for power electronics
  • Proficiency in C/C++
  • Experience with bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware for real-time control applications
  • Experience developing firmware for digital control of power converters, grid following and forming systems
  • Familiarity with RTOS and understanding of real-time constraints, deterministic execution, interrupt handling, task scheduling
  • Experience with digital signal processing concepts applied to power electronics (filters, observers, transformations, control loops)
  • Experience with debugging and testing embedded systems including HIL and SIL
  • In-depth understanding of microcontrollers, DSPs, microprocessors and hardware-software interaction
  • Knowledge of low-level hardware architecture, peripheral configuration (ADC, PWM, timers, DMA), software optimization, memory management, real-time processing
  • Experience with communication protocols common in power electronics (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, Modbus)
  • Strong background in system modeling/simulation and analog/digital controller design (PI, PID, state-space, observers)
  • Ability to translate control algorithms from simulation environments (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) into efficient embedded code
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with complex hardware/software interfaces
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams; excellent communication; Advanced English
