UCT is looking for a talented Engineer II to join us in Philippines!

Job Summary:

The Engineer II – Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and supporting manufacturing processes for weldment parts from customer print through production release. Key responsibilities include SAP routing creation and maintenance, preparation of manufacturing documentation (MFG-DWG, OMS, BKM, SOPs), fixture and tooling design, and production support to ensure quality and efficiency. This role drives process optimization and continuous improvement activities while providing cross-site manufacturing support to UCT Austin as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate accurate, complete, and clear manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks and Bluebeam.
  • Develop CAD models of parts and assemblies from 2D drawings, customer prints, and sketches.
  • Understand the manufacturing process from concept development through detailing and production release.
  • Interpret and set up simple Large Outer Diameter (LOD) parts.
  • Calculate and verify production blueprints to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Utilize Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to set up and release parts for production.
  • Utilize SAP for routing setup, process changes, production order updates, and other manufacturing modifications.
  • Collaborate with onsite Manufacturing Engineers to support Engineering Hold parts and Engineering Request Log action items.
  • Work closely with the Estimating Team to review Costed BOM labor hours based on actual production builds.
  • Submit Agile Engineering Change Requests (ECR) for required part deviations and process updates. • Coordinate with Customer Program Managers and Specialists regarding missing customer documentation, attachments, and customer-related concerns.
  • Provide training, guidance, and technical support to Engineer I team members.
              • Support process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality.
              • Design and support tooling and fixturing requirements for production builds.
              • Perform other related duties as assigned to support business objectives.

                Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

                • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes, weldment fabrication, machining, and assembly operations.
                • Proficient in SolidWorks, Bluebeam, and other CAD/design software.
                • Working knowledge of SAP, Agile, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
                • Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
                • Understanding of BOM structures, process routing, and production documentation.
                • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering standards.
                • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
                • Ability to support process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
                • Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional teams and customers.
                • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
                • Capable of training and mentoring junior engineers and production personnel.
                • Basic understanding of tooling, fixturing, and manufacturing process optimization.
                • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
                • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting project deadlines.

                Educational/Certification Requirement:

                • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Industrial
                • Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience in a related field.
                • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience may also be considered.
                • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related technical certifications are an advantage.

                  Experience Requirement:

                  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment. (5 years for diploma holders)
                  • Experience in weldment fabrication, machining, assembly, or semiconductor manufacturing is preferred.
                  • Hands-on experience using SolidWorks, Bluebeam, SAP, Agile, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
                  • Experience creating manufacturing drawings, process documentation, BOMs, and production routings.
                  • Familiarity with engineering change processes including ECR/ECO submissions and implementation.
                  • Experience supporting production builds, process improvements, and troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
                  • Knowledge of tooling and fixture design is an advantage.
                  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
                  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in engineering documentation and decision making.
                  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and recommend practical solutions.
                  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, production teams, and customers.
                  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
                  • Team oriented with a collaborative attitude and willingness to support others when needed.
