Role Description

Advanced Systems Engineering is a corporate engineering function within Trane Technologies responsible for architecting and executing enterprise-wide strategy, advancing innovation, and enabling global modular system architecture across businesses and regions. This role is designed for an engineering professional who contributes strong technical capability and growth in systems thinking within the HVAC industry. In this role, you will perform engineering assignments of limited to moderate scope and complexity while supporting the development, evaluation, and implementation of advanced technologies, products, and system solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional and global teams to apply engineering fundamentals, interpret technical requirements, and help translate business, market, and regulatory needs into effective design and development outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to build expertise across HVAC systems, contribute to enterprise initiatives, and support innovation aligned with Trane Technologies’ commitment to performance, sustainability, and operational excellence.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Perform engineering assignments including design support, calculations, analysis, testing, and documentation in accordance with established engineering methods, standards, and business processes.
  • Contribute to product and system development activities by gathering data, evaluating results, and supporting recommendations that improve performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Prepare technical documentation, plans, specifications, and related engineering deliverables with attention to quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Apply intermediate proficiency in core competencies such as data insights and technical tools, engineering process excellence, product application knowledge, project management, reliability and qualification, and technical problem solving.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across engineering, product management, operations, and other functions to support project execution and issue resolution.
  • Support implementation of new technologies and modular system approaches by contributing disciplined analysis, technical judgment, and continuous improvement ideas.
  • Learn from senior engineers and subject matter experts while independently managing defined work activities and delivering commitments.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline required.
  • Typically, 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, product development, systems engineering, or a related field. Less experience required for an advanced degree. mechanical systems, product development, systems engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in applicable engineering and professional competencies.
  • Experience applying engineering principles to design, analysis, testing, and problem solving in a structured development environment.
  • Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities with appropriate guidance.
  • Exposure to global products, regulatory considerations, or modular platform development is preferred.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$84,740.00 - $118,860.00
