Embedded SW Engineer (GG10)

About the role

  • As a Software engineer you will be responsible for feature development, ensuring quality by following the prescribed engineering practices. You will participate in design, development, code review, verification, troubleshooting, porting, and delivery of high-quality products.

What You Will Do:

  • Development of software and drivers for peripherals and controllers and services for complex SOC Systems) ARM/Intel/QC based).
  • Android or BSP porting, writing resource managers, board bring-up activities.
  • Analyze existing embedded software to add features, make modifications, fix bugs, and/or port to different platforms.
  • Development of “Bring-up” software for complex SOC Systems.
  • Support in validating/debugging of new leading-edge technologies (new SOC’s, Automotive Interfaces).
  • Specify and implement unit tests for developed SW units.
  • Ensure pre-integration testing and verification for the functional area and its features.
  • Provide root cause analysis for issues, fix these issues, and verify effectiveness of given fixes for the software components delivered.
  • Study and understand specifications, architecture, and design documents for the system.
  • Ensure the process adherence of the work products.
  • Support in ensuring quality through effective design and code review.
  • Report status, issues, and progress of the SW development to the SW lead.
  • Ensure the delivery of features in scope, time, and quality.
  • Join customer presentations and debug workshops.
  • Coordinates software development activities with software team leader.
  • Identify product requirement or performance issues. Work with software team leader to implement a resolution.
  • Communicate with peers inside the Harman group to coordinate software development.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant (IT connected) specializations.
  • 4-5 years of work experience in Automotive and Embedded system design.
  • 5+ years’ experience in C/C++ programming languages developing multi-threaded applications.
  • 3+ years’ experience in developing drivers and application layer.
  • 2+ years of practical experience in Kernel, Android, and familiarity with Java.
  • Exposure to microcontrollers, hardware protocols (like I2C, SPI, UART etc.) is necessary.
  • Exposure to A2B is an advantage.
  • Excellent Knowledge of Automotive SOC 32/64-Bit Architectures (ARM/INTEL/QC).
  • Working experience in ADC, Timer and other MCU HW interfacing drivers.
  • Exposure to Audio processing and algorithms.
  • Good experience working with tools like Gerrit/GIT, Bamboo, Bitbucket, JIRA, etc.
  • Good SW and HW debugging skills.
  • Experience of Linux /Android Platform.
