Role Purpose:
The Engineer - System Testing will be integrated into a core team responsible for validating the Flight Management System (FMS)—the "brain" of the aircraft. Under the guidance of senior engineers, you will support the full validation lifecycle to ensure Airbus products operate safely and reliably. This role offers a unique opportunity for an early-career engineer to develop foundational expertise in complex avionics systems, contributing to certification and real-world safety.
Main Responsibilities:
System Integration & Validation: Assist in preparing and performing system tests on various ground-based test rigs and virtual platforms to identify FMS defects.
Automation & Innovation: Create, validate, and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and eliminate the cost of non-quality.
Data Analysis: Support the analysis of flight data to analyze FMS system behavior and support root cause analysis.
V&V Lifecycle Support: Shadow senior engineers to understand test strategies, execute test procedures, and assist in preparing certification evidence like test result summaries.
Innovation & Automation: Drive the innovation of value-added testing techniques, including automated testing, virtual testing, and Big Data Analysis to eliminate the cost of non-quality.
Documentation: Review and validate design specification documents such as System Description Documents (SDD), System Integration Documents (SID), and Interface Control Document (ICD).
Essential Qualifications:
B.Tech. or M.Tech. in Electronics/Avionics or equivalent.
1-3 years of experience in Avionics V&V or development.
Strong foundational knowledge of FMS domains: Flight Planning, Navigation, Guidance, and Performance Prediction.
Strong knowledge of Indicating & Recording systems, Guidance, Navigation, and Control.
Desired Characteristics / Skills:
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build and manage technical teams, alongside strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Project & Stakeholder Skills: Demonstrated capability in managing project lifecycles, meeting strict deadlines, and successfully navigating stakeholder expectations.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in Avionics System Integration strategy, multi-system/multi-function testing, and analytical problem-solving.
Tools: Experience with Matlab, Virtual Test Means, and Engineering model simulation tools.
Soft Skills: Proven team player with an enthusiasm for aviation and autonomous working capabilities.
