Roles and Responsibilities
- Project engineering, testing (including FAT with customers) and commissioning capabilities for Excitation & GCP including cabinet/hardware design, Power electronic components, Excitation Transformer across projects including design reviews, on time delivery, in budget execution etc. for low to high rating generators of Hydro, Steam, Gas plants etc.
- Ability to create BOM on different product life cycle management tools and support manufacturing teams for getting desired system as per customer requirements.
- Perform Electrical (EXCITATION & GCP) Engineering & testing across projects.
- Identify and communicate technical risk during project execution & site interventions.
- Participate to technical discussion with customers and vendors.
- Knowledge & implementation of Third-party communication e.g. MODBUS, IEC 101/104 and IEC 61850 etc.
- Work Closely with the Engineering, Field Service & Project Managers to deliver the projects as per schedule & customer satisfaction.
- Participate to engineering Optimization, Standardization & Simplification efforts & Establish tools, template & processes to enable faster turnaround and improve productivity.
- Ability to troubleshoot & fix the technical issues related to hardware, software or network faults.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience with Electrical system design & commissioning of generator excitation & Protection (GCP) system.
- Good analytic and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills to serve customers in region.
Desired Characteristics
- Knowledge of Ex2100e / ControGen Hx Excitation System.
- Knowledge of different electrical codes / standards for designing the excitation system & elsewise.
- Knowledge of engineering tools e.g., AutoCAD, E3 for electrical design, Inventor for Mechanical design etc.
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within and across various teams
- Self-starter, energizing, results-oriented, and able to multi-task; tenacious and organized
- Demonstrate ability to make recommendations to technical and program leadership to improve the product, process or technology
- Demonstrate communication, facilitation and influencing skills; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
