What We'll Bring:
The focus of this role will be the design, maintenance, and programming of BI systems.The role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing Business Intelligence
Solutions for TransUnion using SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric and supporting BI tools.
What You'll Bring:
Qualifications:
- Education to degree level (or higher) in relevant discipline preferred
- Microsoft Certification in relevant technology (MCP or higher) preferred
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience working in a business intelligence, data engineering or
data related field.
Skills:
- Must have a passion for programming and data analytics
- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, SQL Server, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (Notebooks, Data flows, Pipelines)
- Advanced level familiarity with BI technologies (e.g., Power BI, SSAS, SSRS).
- Advanced experience using automated testing (e. g SQL Server database Unit Testing, specflow).
- Advanced experience with SQL Server 2008 R2 BI Stack
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Modern development practices such as Agile, source control, coding standards for example
- Plans, organizes, and manoeuvres obstacles to deliver results
- Critical thinking skills to identify root cause and permanent resolution
- Must be fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong people skills and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff
- Excellent documentation skills
- Manages time, responsibilities, and multiple priorities effectively
- Passion for quality excellence, methodical, thorough, and diligent
- Must be a initiative-taker with the ability to perform on a team or with minimal supervision.
- Must be highly organized with a strong diligence.
- Experience with REST based APIs
- Experienced with NoSQL databases, knowledge of MongoDB
- Experience in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modelling) and data mining.
- Experience with cloud technologies and Python would be considered as advantage.
- Coaching and mentoring skills
Experience:
- Commercial experience of Business Intelligence development using SQL Server 2008 R2,
including IS/ AS/ RS, stored procedures, views, and functions
- Experience of SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services, Powerview
- Experience of Microsoft Fabric.
- PowerPivot
- Experience of SharePoint 2010/ 13
- Experience of writing unit tests and using build systems in conjunction with database systems
- Experience with large databases
- Experience of Microsoft ProClarity
Impact You'll Make:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Business Intelligence Solutions, including database systems and
Data Warehouses, using SQL Server 2008 R2 Integration Services, Analysis Services, Reporting
Services and Master Data Management, Microsoft Excel, and ProClarity as appropriate
- Produce and run unit tests to ensure high quality of all changes and participating in the design and
requirements capturing of new Business Intelligence initiatives
- Problem solve and debug complex Business Intelligence systems, including database systems and
Data Warehouses, to allow defect analysis and fixing
- Collaborate across organization and be technical expert on Business Intelligence solutions.
- Work with the team to ensure continuous process improvement
- Mentor and train junior data engineers and guide them in understanding BI&DW best practices
and standards.

- Creation and maintenance of technical documentation
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control/improvements and
testing to ensure products/systems are free of flows and function as designed.
- Designs, tests and/or implements products or systems.

- Have exposure to, and the option to become experienced with an array of existing technologies.
- Maintains team process and procedures.
- Provides input into technical design documents/design/ implementation.
