DUTIES: Provide technical leadership in designing and developing new software and web applications using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot Framework, Scala, Akka, Jquery, Angular, Kafka, Kinesis, MQ, Spark, Flink, and GitHub, following Agile development methodology throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC); develop Microservices architecture; query data in MongoDB and Cassandra databases; query data using SQL in PostgreSQL and Oracle databases; deploy applications to Pivotal Cloud Foundry using Docker; perform application logging using ELK stack; automate software deployment using CI/CD pipelines; use Dynatrace, Wily, and AppD to monitor application performance; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience developing software using Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot Framework; developing Microservices architecture; of which three (3) years include querying data using SQL in PostgreSQL and Oracle databases; performing application logging using ELK stack; developing software following Agile development methodology throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC); and automating software deployment using CI/CD pipelines; of which one (1) year includes deploying applications to Pivotal Cloud Foundry using Docker; using GitHub; developing and integrating applications using Jquery and Angular framework; using Kafka and MQ; using AppD to monitor application performance; and utilizing Spark.
