Job Description
This Engineer 1 is onsite in our downtown Philadelphia Comcast Technology Center. It is not eligible for remote/virtual employment or relocation.
This position is ineligible for visa sponsorship. To be considered for this role, you must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing and interpreting electrical schematics and layouts to support hardware design specifications
- Verifying hardware functionality through the use of tools like oscilloscopes and digital multimeters under guidance
- Collaborating with the industrial design team on 3D CAD design evaluations to ensure alignment with design intent
- Organizing simulation parameters for thermal and structural analyses to optimize hardware engineering designs
- Assisting with the assembly and iterative improvement of hardware prototypes as directed by senior engineers
- Conducting performance tests on prototypes and products to validate simulations and collect functional data
- Supporting senior engineers in design trade-off discussions and contributing to early concept development
- Demonstrating foundational knowledge of consumer electronics to assist in product feature compatibility assessments
- Contributing to technical documents, define and characterize technical terms in a simplistic manner
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands on hardware engineering experience within an internship or co-op setting
- Experience with Zigbee protocol and DOCSIS 4.0 required
