The Engine Control Module Hardware Design Engineer will play a key role in vehicle or module-related projects. Their main mission will be to oversee the progress of product and process qualification for electronic control module components, from supplier selection to series industrialization.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Ensure the development, validation, integration, and qualification of components within their scope
- Develop and publish engine control module performance standards
- Execute programs through PDP that meet or exceed objectives for performance, cost, weight, investment, and quality
- Direct suppliers in developing, testing, and releasing components to meet Stellantis vehicle level requirements and sub-system level behavior objectives
- Directly involved with supplier design efforts and design reviews to ensure the supplier design meets Stellantis expectation as listed in Stellantis specifications
- Ensure product and process maturity in line with project expectations
- Manage product and process changes based on identified needs
- Oversee risks and critical points while addressing technical issues related to their scope
- Develop core component hardware DFMEA for ECM modules. Review and sign off on Suppliers Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with design, manufacturing, suppliers, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and production feasibility
- Interface with global employees to harmonize product designs, processes, and documentation to promote component re-use
- Support field warranty and quality investigations, leading the root cause analysis effort as well as contributing to the identification and validation of the optimal solution
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or related degree field
- 8 or more years of overall relevant experience
- 1 or more years of electronic ECU or automotive 12V component development experience
- Full understanding of automotive ECU development process or 12V energy management systems
- Strong leadership skills (prepared to lead a supplier team)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience managing suppliers and/or engineers
- Experience managing or developing embedded software
- Proficient in LabVIEW, Teststand, Veristand, CAPL
- Familiar with cryptographic principals
- Familiar with CAN/CAN-FD protocols
- Outstanding communication and organization skills
