  • Conducting on-site assessments to evaluate energy consumption patterns and identify areas for improvement.

  • Implement energy-saving strategies and monitor energy consumption to ensure efficient operation.

  • Utilizing the BAS (Building Automation System) to help identify energy saving opportunities.

  • Applying engineering principles to analyze systems and recommend more efficient solutions.

  • Assisting senior engineers in the design, development, and implementation of energy-related projects and strategies.

  • Staying updated on the latest technologies and participating in learning that leads to improvement in energy efficiency.

  • Becoming familiar with equipment sequence of operations and how control systems work.

  • Becoming familiar with ASHRAE standards.

  • Assist with the creating, maintaining, and establishing Energy Reduction Standards.

  • Project management of energy efficiency projects.

  • Working with other facility engineering disciplines/in house (maybe union) on energy projects.

  • Performing energy audits and identifying energy saving opportunities.

  • Develop and maintain a positive and respectful workplace with all employees.

  • Promote site Lean transformation and integrate into a team culture.

  • Sustainability reporting.

  • The entering of energy/sustainability related work orders and tracking progress.

  • Involvement in metering/tracking of electricity, natural gas, and water across the facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or institution.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

  • Association of Energy Engineers certification(s)

  • Previous Project Management, Design, or Engineering experience with energy or carbon reduction projects.

  • Self-motivated, the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

  • Experience working in a unionized environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
