Position Summary: The EAS Finance Assistant reports to the EAS Finance Manager and is responsible for the financial administration of business services such as payment processing, reporting, coordination, reconciliation, and resolving stakeholder financial inquiries using generally accepted accounting principles.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supports the EAS Finance Manager, participating in fiscal planning for the EAS program
- Prepares, analyzes and reviews financial reports for direct EAS bill payments, using generally accepted accounting principles
- Issues checks, records payments to client accounts or organizational ledgers, and assists with compliance auditing of payment requests
- Verifies and pays invoices, executes checks, reconciles balances and maintains records
- Sets up and maintains vendors or suppliers in the accounting systems
- Helps maintain data completeness and quality of financial data
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in related field
- Experience with low-income populations (preferred)
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Adherence to professional code of ethics
- Maintain confidentiality and obtain appropriate releases of information
- Familiarity with Salvation Army policies and procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint.
- Willingness to learn new software as needed.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Complete Safe From Harm training and keep current as needed.
