Join us as an Employment Law & HR Business Partner

  • This is an excellent opportunity to deliver a relationship managed service to a portfolio of valued clients within our Business Banking segment in Employment Law & HR consultancy
  • You’ll be building lasting relationships to grow the volume and value of your portfolio through consistently delivering high quality customer interactions and experiences
  • As a key member of our team, you’ll be recognised for building trust and long-term sustainable value for our customers and colleagues
What you'll do

We’ll look to you to deliver excellent service to your portfolio of clients, either through face-to-face meetings or video, telephone and email channels. Through a proactive contact strategy, you’ll be working to really understand their needs and provide them with commercial and profitable advice, while encouraging them to adopt and use Mentor’s digital and self-service channels where appropriate.

Additionally, you’ll be:

  • Delivering new business growth through referrals, networking and business generation activities
  • Leading new business prospect meetings, business networking and relationship building with your internal and external network and new customer lead referrals
  • Working collaboratively with our Consultancy Delivery team to make sure that services are delivered in line with customer expectations and timescales
  • Proactively managing client retention and renewal pricing conversations for your own portfolio and in support of others
  • Maintaining a fully up to date contact strategy plan, focusing on developing new business income and achieving agreed income goals
  • Supporting other clients as well as your own, and colleagues with complex technical issues
The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone with a strong customer focus and professional qualifications in Employment Law or HR, CIPD level 5 as a minimum. You’ll have extensive experience in a role relating to employment law, employment relations or HR, and you’ll also have a background in dealing with the provision of advice for complex matters.

We’ll also be looking for you to have:

  • Extensive experience of identifying customer needs, identifying risks and prioritising recommendations
  • The ability to identify and lead business solutions, bespoke service offerings to customers and provide commercial price quotes
  • Excellent time management skills and a flexible approach to serve customers at times that meet their needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

You’re applying at an exciting time, as we’re in a period of transition for Mentor to move from being a part of NatWest Group to join the Empowering People Group (EPG).

The two organisations’ values are closely aligned, and the synergies in our offerings for customers make this a natural fit and a great partnership opportunity.

Whilst the role you’ve applied for has been advertised by Natwest Group due to Mentor currently being part of this group, and would be to carry out work for the Mentor provision, the employment would in fact be with AdviserPlus Business Solutions, part of EPG, and not with NatWest.  EPG terms and conditions and benefits will therefore apply.

EPG is an award-winning business acting for household brands and names you'll be familiar with. They have offices around the UK and provide comprehensive Human Resource (HR) services, along with SRA-regulated employment law expertise and expanding into H&S via the Mentor offering. They’re committed to delivering exceptional HR and H&S solutions and to their customer and colleague experience.

NatWest Group Compensation & Benefits Highlights

The following summarizes recurring compensation and benefits themes identified from responses generated by popular LLMs to common candidate questions about NatWest Group and has not been reviewed or approved by NatWest Group.

  • Flexible Benefits A flexible ValueAccount structure with pension and benefit funding allows tailoring of health, protection, lifestyle, and savings options, with unused amounts typically paid as cash. This flexibility supports personalisation of coverage, particularly in Great Britain where the framework is most detailed.
  • Retirement Support Employer-funded pension contributions are provided on top of salary in Great Britain, alongside automatic retirement enrollment and share/save programs. This creates structured long‑term wealth support as part of total reward.
  • Parental & Family Support UK policies outline extended maternity, adoption and equal partner leave on full pay with a phased return, plus paid neonatal care leave. These provisions are positioned as market‑leading and complement broader flexibility resources.

What We Do

We’re a business that understands when our customers and people succeed, our communities succeed, and our economy thrives. As part of our purpose, we’re looking at how we can drive change for our communities in enterprise, learning and climate. As one of the leading supporters of UK business, we’re prioritising enterprise as a force of change. We’re focusing on the people and communities who have traditionally faced the highest barriers to entry and figuring out ways to remove these. Learning is also key to our continued growth as a company in an ever changing and increasingly digital world. By setting a dynamic and leading learning culture, our people prosper, and our customers are given the tools to continue to improve their financial capability and confidence. One of the biggest challenges we all face in our future is climate change. That’s why we’ve put it right at the core of our purpose. We want to champion climate solutions with financing and entrepreneurial support, fully embed climate into our culture and decision making, and be climate positive by 2025. We’re committed to using our purpose to break down barriers, drive change and ultimately create a great place to work.
