Job Summary:
The Transport Operations Manager will oversee and optimize our employee transportation services in Pune, ensuring efficiency, safety, and high service standards. This role requires strategic planning, scheduling optimization, and effective vendor management to achieve the best operational outcomes. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in transport operations, a deep understanding of industry best practices, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining service excellence will be key priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and Manage Transport Operations:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for employee transport services, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Operational Management: Oversee and manage daily transport operations, ensuring timely and reliable transportation for our employees.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Develop and maintain transportation schedules, coordinating with various departments to meet their transportation needs.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all transportation activities comply with local regulations, safety standards, company policies and prioritizing employee safety.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, train, and motivate the transport team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Employee Communication: Communicate with employees regarding transport schedules, changes, and updates, ensuring clear and timely information.
- Budget Management: Monitor and manage the transportation budget, optimizing costs without compromising service quality.
- Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with external transportation providers and vendors to manage day to day transport service deliverables.
- Incident Management: Handle transportation-related incidents and emergencies, ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption to employee commutes.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on transport activities, performance metrics etc.
- Handling COB situations as a single point of contact
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in transport operations management, preferably with a focus on employee transport service.
- Proven track record of managing transport operations.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards in India.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using transportation management software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Security, Finance, Business) and external partners.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Exposure:
- Previous experience in managing large fleets and vendor relationships.
- Familiarity with GPS tracking systems and fleet management software.
- Innovative, in the transport operations space.
