General Statement of Job:
The Human Resources Employee Relations Specialist (ERS) is responsible for providing professional Human Resources support for all SIS employees and departments throughout the company. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide recommendations for handling employee relations issues as they relate to company policy
- Advise management and employees on SIS Human Resources policies and processes.
- Train management in the SIS employee disciplinary and separation process.
- Coordinate, research and answer unemployment claims. Attend and represent SIS at unemployment appeals hearings as necessary
- Perform other related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience
- Two plus years experience in Human Resources
- Human Resources Certification (PHR or SHRM) preferred
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations
- Proficient in PC and iOS software including data analysis, presentation, email, calendaring programs, and HRIS software
- Must be a dependable team player with business maturity and enthusiasm with the ability to deliver high level of customer service
- Domestic Travel up to 20% of time may be required
- Flexibility to be responsive on any day of the week (Mon-Sun)
- Must be willing and able to work 100% on-site in New York City
