Job Summary:

The Employee Relations (ER) Partner serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing expert guidance on employee relations matters, workplace investigations, payroll administration, policy interpretation, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures fair, consistent, and legally compliant people practices while supporting accurate and timely payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including performance, attendance, conduct, policy violations, accommodations, leaves, and workplace conflicts.
  • Coach managers on performance management, documentation, corrective actions, employee separations, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct thorough and impartial workplace investigations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and other policy concerns.
  • Prepare investigation summaries, findings, recommendations, and maintain confidential ER case records.
  • Partner with HR, Legal, Payroll, and leadership on complex or sensitive employee matters.
  • Manage unemployment claims, including gathering documentation, responding to claims, preparing appeals, and participating in unemployment hearings as needed.
  • Support payroll processing, including pay changes, bonuses, overtime, timekeeping corrections, retroactive adjustments, and employee payroll inquiries.
  • Review payroll information for accuracy and assist with resolving discrepancies, audits, and compliance matters.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies, payroll procedures, and applicable employment requirements consistently.
  • Support employee separations, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and other employment decisions.
  • Identify and track ER, unemployment, and payroll trends and recommend process or policy improvements.
  • Support employment claims, audits, regulatory inquiries, and related documentation requests.
  • Promote respectful workplace practices while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment when handling sensitive employee matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2-5 years of experience in employee relations, HR operations, or HR generalist roles
  • Hands-on experience conducting workplace investigations
  • Working knowledge of payroll processing, wage and hour laws, and timekeeping practices
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication, judgment, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2–5 years of experience in employee relations, HR operations, or HR generalist roles
  • Hands-on experience conducting workplace investigations
  • Working knowledge of payroll processing, wage and hour laws, and timekeeping practices
