Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly professional Employee Relations Manager – W2 Consultants to serve as the primary point of contact for our W2 consultant workforce.

This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with consultants throughout their employment lifecycle and ensuring that their questions, concerns, and requests are addressed promptly and professionally.

The ideal candidate will combine strong employee-relations expertise, communication skills, IT staffing knowledge, and operational judgment. This individual should be approachable and responsive while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries when handling sensitive employee matters.

Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee & Consultant Relations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for W2 consultants regarding employment-related questions, concerns, and requests.
  • Establish and maintain professional, trusted relationships with consultants throughout their employment lifecycle.
  • Provide timely communication and appropriate follow-up on consultant inquiries and concerns.
  • Listen to employee concerns, understand the underlying issue, and coordinate with the appropriate internal stakeholders to achieve resolution.
  • Handle sensitive and escalated matters with discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee concerns, communications, actions taken, and resolutions.

Payroll & Employment Support
  • Coordinate with Payroll and HR regarding questions related to salary, payroll processing, timesheets, deductions, reimbursements, benefits, and employment documentation.
  • Assist consultants in understanding company processes and requirements.
  • Monitor outstanding payroll or employment-related issues and ensure appropriate follow-up through resolution.
  • Escalate complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate management or functional team.
Immigration Coordination
  • Serve as the communication liaison between consultants and the organization's Immigration/Legal team.
  • Coordinate requests and documentation related to H-1B transfers, extensions, amendments, OPT/EAD, and other employment authorization matters.
  • Ensure consultants receive timely updates regarding the status of immigration-related requests.
  • Facilitate communication and follow-up without providing independent legal or immigration advice.
Marketing, Projects & Consultant Support
  • Coordinate with Recruiting, Marketing/Bench Sales, and Account Management regarding consultant marketing status, job opportunities, submissions, interviews, project assignments, and placement activities.
  • Ensure consultants receive appropriate updates regarding their project or marketing status.
  • Assist consultants during onboarding, project transitions, client interviews, assignments, and offboarding.
  • Identify and escalate issues that may impact consultant engagement, retention, or project continuity.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Partner effectively with HR, Payroll, Immigration, Recruiting, Marketing/Bench Sales, Sales, Account Management, and senior management.
  • Take ownership of consultant issues and ensure they are routed to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain visibility into open issues and proactively follow up until resolution.
  • Identify recurring employee concerns and recommend improvements to policies, processes, and communication.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication processes between consultants and internal departments.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–7+ years of experience in Employee Relations, HR Operations, Consultant Relations, IT Staffing, Workforce Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience supporting W2 IT consultants within a U.S. staffing or consulting organization is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the U.S. IT staffing and consulting environment.
  • Familiarity with H-1B, H-1B transfers, OPT/EAD, and employment authorization processes.
  • Experience coordinating with Payroll, Immigration, Recruiting, HR, and staffing operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive employee concerns with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
