We are looking for an ER Wellbeing Manager to join our Colleague Experience & HR Operations team.  If you are an experienced people leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings others with you and has solid employee relations experience, this could be a great opportunity for you.   

Job Type:  Permanent 

Location: Hybrid. This is a hybrid role, with quarterly travel expected to support face to face time with the team, most likely in Edinburgh and Birmingham.

Salary and benefits: Salary of up to £70k depending on level of experience, bonus range of 16-32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, income protection, 3 x volunteering days and much more.

The role  

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the next phase of our Employee Relations and Colleague Wellbeing offering.  You’ll lead and develop a team of ER professional, embed our colleague wellbeing model and strengthen the operational foundations needed to delivery a consistent, high-quality colleague experience. 

 

As part of the Employee Relations team, you’ll help transform our approach from reactive case management to proactive, insight-led outcomes.  You’ll establish clear controls, improve processes and capacity planning, while setting and embedding high standards for service and experience.    

 

The role combines people leadership, stakeholder influencing, wellbeing strategy and planning, and oversight of case management.   You’ll have the opportunity to influence both our strategic direction and ways of working, putting colleague experience at the heart of how we deliver the right outcomes. 

 

What are we looking for?

  • An experience and inclusive people leader who can develop high-performing employee relations teams and lead confidently through change. 

  • Broad employee relations and colleague wellbeing expertise, with particular strength in absence management and health-related casework. 

  • Sound judgement and the ability to balance employment law, regulatory and commercial considerations with a fair and positive colleague experience. 

  • The credibility and influencing skills to build trusted relationships with operational leaders, senior stakeholders and our staff association. 

  • Experience improving ER operations, including case management, governance, controls, processes, capacity planning and ways of working.

  • A strategic and evidence-led approach to wellbeing, translating organisational needs and emerging trends into practical priorities and sustainable business outcomes. 

  • A continuous improvement mindset, using data and insight to identify themes, challenge established approaches and deliver meaningful change.
