Brown & Brown is seeking an Employee Benefits Operations Leader to join our growing team in Minneapolis, MN.
The Operations Team Leader is responsible for leading the day-to-day operational execution of the Employee Benefits business within an assigned team or functional area. This role supports operational excellence by ensuring compliance with established processes, maintaining data accuracy, driving technology adoption, and promoting efficient workflows.
This leader partners closely with service, sales, compliance, and operational leadership teams to support business objectives and deliver high-quality operational outcomes.
How You Will Contribute:
Lead, coach, and develop operational team members.
Conduct regular performance discussions, provide feedback, and support career development.
Assist with onboarding and training of new teammates.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
Support workforce planning and identify talent development opportunities.
Ensure consistent adherence to established operational workflows, procedures, and service standards.
Monitor daily operational activities to ensure quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with implementation of operational enhancements.
Maintain documentation, procedures, and operational best practices.
Support quality control activities, audits, and operational reviews.
Assist with workload management and resource allocation to ensure timely service delivery.
Ensure compliance with company policies, carrier requirements, regulatory standards, and operational procedures. Escalate operational risks, issues, or concerns to leadership as appropriate.
Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and corrective action initiatives.
Drive adoption and effective use of approved Employee Benefits technology platforms and tools. Support data integrity and accuracy within operational systems.
Assist team members with technology utilization and process adherence.
Participate in system enhancements, implementations, and operational technology initiatives.
Encourage the use of reporting and analytics to support informed decision-making.
Maintain positive working relationships with carrier and vendor partners. Support carrier and vendor issue resolution and service coordination.
Licenses and Certifications:
Life, Accident & Health License or ability to obtain and maintain licensure.
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
3+ years of employee benefits, insurance, operations, or business process experience.
Prior experience leading teams, projects, or operational initiatives.
Strong understanding of employee benefits operations, workflows, and service delivery processes.
Experience with operational controls, compliance requirements, and process improvement initiatives.
Working knowledge of agency management systems and employee benefits technology platforms.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Preferred
Leadership experience within an employee benefits brokerage, consulting firm, or insurance carrier.
Experience with BenefitPoint, Salesforce, AMS platforms, or similar agency management systems.
CEBS, GBA, or other industry designation.
Experience supporting technology implementations and change management initiatives.
Pay Range
$125,000.00 - $175,000.00 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
