Job Description Summary:

This is a part-time permanent position.
If the postholder requires a Standard or Enhanced DBS disclosure the candidate is required to declare full details of everything on their criminal record unless the conviction/s and/or caution/s are considered “protected” in line with filtering rules for DBS checks.
ROLE AND PURPOSE
Responsible for the promotion, delivery and development of work experience and volunteering opportunities across Hull City Council and associated partnerships / stakeholders. Working with Schools, Colleges, Training Providers, Managers and external stakeholders to offer a consistent co-ordinated approach to work experience and volunteering.
Provide information and statistics on scope, range, satisfaction and volume of associated activities.
To promote and ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all participants on associated programmes.
To ensure the council meets its statutory requirement to secure the provision of work experience for persons in their area — who are over compulsory school age but under 19, or who are aged 19 or over but under 25 and are subject to learning difficulty assessment. To encourage participation in work experience by residents and encourage employers to participate in the provision of work experience for such persons.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    1. To promote and safeguard the welfare of young people and/or vulnerable adults
    2. Plan, allocate and co-ordinate all work experience and volunteering opportunities across Hull City Council in partnership with all respective stakeholders, including local authority departments, schools and colleges.
    3. Accountable for establishing and maintaining systems and processes that support the effective management of work experience and volunteering including, placement requests, trends in areas of interest, and numbers offered annually and satisfaction of participants. These systems and processes will be required to support large scale volunteering activities and associate activity matching.
    4. Maintain productive and effective working relations across all associated internal and external stakeholders and ensure the benefits of work experience and volunteering opportunities are promoted effectively across the city. External stakeholders will include Schools and Colleges.
    5. Co-ordinate all Hull City Council placements through the Humber Education Partnership (EBP) or other assured provider, who are contracted to quality assure all Work Experience placements within the city. This will include liaison with staff at the EBP or assured provider regarding changes to placements, new departments, cancelled placements, annual checks of placements, updated insurance documents and Risk Assessments.
    6. To complete Risk Assessments across Council Departments to provide safe environments for work experience / volunteers during their time with the authority.
    7. Develop and maintain e-learning packages that allow department managers and respective staff offering work experience or volunteering the opportunity to keep up to date with the authority’s guidelines, policies and procedures.
    8. Ensure all appropriate documentation is completed and given to managers, teachers, volunteers, young people and stakeholders in a timely manner to ensure effective delivery of respective programmes.
    10. The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated legislation places responsibilities for health and safety on Hull City Council, as your employer and you as an employee of the council. In addition to the Councils overall duties, the post holder has personal responsibility for their own health & safety and that of other employees; additional and more specific responsibilities are identified in the Council’s Corporate H&S policy.

£29,540.00 - £32,061.00
