The Role

A Day in the LifeIn this role, you will contribute to the Corporate Audit program within the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region as well as potential international assignments. You will be developing a working knowledge of Medtronic’s products & business models models, processes and operations. You will utilize your field experience, business/industry knowledge and technical knowledge to execute a variety of audit/consulting engagements to support the company’s objectives. As a member of the Corporate Audit team you will contribute to Corporate Audit's mission, which is to preserve and enhance shareholder value through the independent and objective identification and evaluation of risks, the assessment of the integrity and effectiveness of internal controls, and the evaluation and promotion of operational excellence across the global Medtronic enterprise.
In your role, you will participate a variety of assignments across the region such as auditing sales office/ countries, new business models, global/region led processes, post-acquisition audits, internal controls assessments as well as advisory projects to support management on transformational initiatives. You will participate with the completion of planning, fieldwork and reporting activities with oversight from the Senior/ Principal team member and at times from the Manager. In this role, you will also have an opportunity to expand your data analytics skills to drive audit results. The role provides an excellent opportunity to expand knowledge on Medtronic value streams and business practices as well as to interact with a wide range of stakeholders in the region (Controllership, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Forensics, Supply Chain, COEs).

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Execute individual work while exhibiting an awareness and ability to collaborate with other team members to reach the assigned goals
  • Perform audit projects in accordance with department standard operating procedures, as well as International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
  • Clearly understand the audit process, technology, and department operations
  • Initiate meetings, prepare materials, and lead meetings with others (Medtronic business control owners, Corporate Audit department management, etc.)
  • Document and evidence detailed work in a complete, accurate and organized manner to demonstrate a complete understanding and support conclusions reached.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study (Accounting, Finance, Business Administration) with 2-3 years of experience in Audit i.e. Big 4 or similar or 4+ years in Internal Audit, Accounting or Finance
  • Excellent interpersonal and English communication (verbal and written) skills
  • High energy, results-orientated individual with demonstrated capacity to take charge of assigned projects with sense of urgency, good organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, good business sense
  • Flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities and responsibilities in a dynamic and changing environment
  • Experience with accounting and auditing theories and principles and with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.

Professional Certification in accounting and/or internal control, experience with SAP, Data Analytics tools and US GAAP and SOX are considered advantages for this role. Furthermore, ability and willingness to travel subject to local/international restrictions (domestic and international), ranging from 20 - 40% and proficiency in multiple languages are a plus.

Pay range / Rango salarial / Intervalo salarial /Fascia retributiva / Tranche de salaire / Gehaltsband / Salaribereik:  Netherlands: 51,520.00 EUR - 77,280.00 EUR | 
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
