Silicon Labs is looking for a software engineer to work on our chip embedded software solutions in Rennes, France. The role focuses on integrating and enabling key platform components within large and evolving codebases, with a strong focus on Zephyr and embedded security. You will work across multiple layers of the software stacks and contribute to upstream projects when relevant. This position requires experience with complex embedded systems, a solid understanding of security-related mechanisms, and the ability to drive integration across components. Responsibilities
Drive system-level integration of embedded software on Cortex-M platforms
Contribute to upstream projects such as Zephyr and Trusted Firmware-M, including development, reviews, and design discussions
Work in and modify large and complex codebases
Debug system-level issues
Enable and integrate security-related features
Collaborate with hardware and platform teams to align software with silicon capabilities
Providing ideas and innovations for making our products and working methods even more competitive and extraordinary
Tune code for optimal resource utilization, reliability, performance, and energy efficiency
Uphold a high standard of software quality
Skill/Experience
5+ years of experience in embedded software development
Strong proficiency in C and solid embedded system fundamentals
RTOS environment knowledge (FreeRTOS, Zephyr)
Good understanding and knowledge of embedded security concepts (Secure boot, Key management, Cryptography Algorithms, Trusted Execution Environments, …)
Ability and desire to contribute new ideas, build consensus, and drive tasks to completion
Fluent written and spoken English
Knowledge about digital wireless, signal processing is counted as a benefit
Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) powered tools and technologies used to enhance productivity, analysis, and decision-making.
Education requirements
Master-level degree in Computer Science, Software, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing or a similar area with a software focus.
