Join the RISC-V Revolution!

We are looking for hands-on embedded software engineers to develop and enable Zephyr RTOS on MIPS RISC-V based MCU and embedded compute platforms. You will work across board and SoC bring-up, kernel and driver integration, SDK content, testing, and upstream ecosystem contribution.

What You'll Do

  • Port and enable Zephyr RTOS on new MIPS RISC-V processors, SoCs, FPGA platforms, and virtual development platforms.
  • Develop and maintain board support packages, device-tree descriptions, startup code, interrupt and timer support, and SoC integration layers.
  • Develop or integrate Zephyr device drivers for interfaces and peripherals such as UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, timers, watchdogs, Ethernet, CAN, and storage.
  • Create reference applications, samples, tests, and SDK documentation that help internal teams and customers adopt the platform.
  • Debug kernel, driver, boot, memory, interrupt, concurrency, and performance issues using emulators, FPGA or silicon platforms.
  • Contribute automated tests to Zephyr test infrastructure and integrate builds and regression execution into CI pipelines.
  • Collaborate with CPU architecture, SoC, FPGA, tools, validation, and customer-facing teams to align software with hardware capabilities.
  • Contribute fixes and features upstream to Zephyr and related open-source projects where appropriate.

You Should Have

  • 4-6 years of hands-on embedded software development experience.
  • Strong C programming skills, with working knowledge of C++ and embedded assembly.
  • Practical Zephyr RTOS development experience, including kernel configuration, Kconfig, devicetree, west/CMake builds, boards, SoCs, and device drivers.
  • Solid understanding of RTOS concepts: threads, scheduling, interrupts, synchronization, timers, memory management, and inter-process communication.
  • Experience with bare-metal firmware, memory-mapped I/O, low-level drivers, BSPs, and hardware bring-up.
  • Experience using Git and debugging tools such as GDB, OpenOCD, Segger J-Link, or Lauterbach.
  • Python or shell scripting experience for build, test, and validation automation.
  • Ability to read processor, SoC, and peripheral technical documentation and translate it into reliable software.

Good to Have

  • RISC-V architecture, privilege levels, interrupts, timers, and toolchains.
  • Zephyr upstream contribution or open-source community participation.
  • Experience with networking stacks, Ethernet, TCP/IP, device management, secure boot, firmware update, or MCUboot.
  • Experience with FPGA, pre-silicon models, post-silicon bring-up, or embedded validation.
  • Exposure to functional safety, security, or automotive/industrial embedded systems.

What You'll Get

  • Direct impact on a new RISC-V software platform and its Zephyr ecosystem.
  • Close collaboration with CPU architects, SoC teams, toolchain engineers, and experienced embedded developers.
  • End-to-end ownership spanning platform bring-up, SDK delivery, validation, and open-source enablement.
  • A flexible growth path toward deep technical specialization or technical leadership.
