Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Embedded / Simulation Software Integrator Engineer (f/m). The role is based in Toulouse, France.
You will join the Avionics or Simulation Software department, part of the Avionics.
This organization acts as an internal supplier of avionics equipment and simulators. Engineers in this domain are responsible for the design, development, production, and support of critical embedded products (e.g., Flight Controls, Flight Warning, Communication, Maintenance Equipment) or Simulation Softwares for all Airbus aircraft. It also serves as the Chamber of Reference (CoR) for Software and Electronics and Simulation, thanks to its highly skilled and experienced teams. In some cases, the activity scope also extends to other Airbus divisions and external partners.

Your challenges:
You will be part of a dynamic software team developing embedded avionics (e.g., Flight Controls).
You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of avionics real-time.
This includes applying robust software engineering methodologies and tools, complying with airworthiness regulations, and balancing technical, business, and industrial considerations.
This position requires experience in software Integration for embedded critical operating systems.
You will operate in a highly regulated environment (DO178B/C, DAL A to C software):
- Verify that the system’s requirements are correctly & completely implemented
- Contribute to qualification of the system in the frame of customer acceptance or certification
- Define interfaces between function or systems and in managing consistent implementation in system(s)
- Define Test strategy, test preparation including environment set up, test execution and functions analyze for system / sub-system / equipment / component / module. Integration and verification activities will require the use of hardware and test means such as probes, bus analyzers and emulators.
- Value the customer needs and challenge them to propose common and reusable solutions.
- Ensure the related support activity: failure report analysis, answer to technical requests.
- Improve the ways of working; bring new design solutions and technologies.
- Define, follow-up and receipt the subcontracted activities and deliverables, in conformity with the subcontracting management rules.
- Manage your activities following the expected schedule, budget and quality.
- Participate in the improvement of the Department performance.
You will report to a manager responsible for a portfolio of avionics software products, within an agile organization with flexible role assignments.

- Critical Real-Time embedded software development vs certification (DO178-C, DAL-A)
- V cycle development process, focus on the right part of the V, namely integration & verification
- Programming languages: C in embedded context
- Multi-Core Power PC architecture
- Software engineering methods and tools (standard DEVOPS environment)
- Open mind-set, good communication skills and good team working
- Negotiation level of English and French

Skills Required
- Proven experience in software integration for critical embedded operating systems

- Experience with DO-178B/C certification processes and working on DAL A to C software
- Experience with V-cycle development process, emphasis on integration and verification
- Programming in C for embedded contexts

- Experience defining test strategy, preparing test environment, executing tests and analyzing functions using hardware probes, bus analyzers and emulators
