Company Overview
ACS (Allen Control Systems) is a defense technology company building precision robotic systems for the United States and its allies. Founded by two former U.S. Navy electrical engineers with deep experience in robotics and software, ACS brings together AI, computer vision, precision motion, and advanced hardware to solve complex defense challenges across land, air, and maritime environments.

Our flagship product, Bullfrog, is an autonomous precision weapon system that transforms existing weapons into highly accurate counter-drone systems — giving warfighters a scalable, cost-effective response to one of the fastest-growing threats on the modern battlefield. Bullfrog is deployed with U.S. forces, and ACS works with organizations throughout the U.S. military and national security community.

Following a $200 million Series B at a $2.2 billion valuation, ACS is rapidly expanding manufacturing, accelerating Bullfrog deployments, and developing the next generation of autonomous battlefield systems. This is an opportunity to join a proven, fast-moving team and help scale technology with direct, real-world impact on national security.

ACS is headquartered in Austin, Texas, with additional operations in Alexandria, Virginia; Mountain View, California; and Huntsville, Alabama. For more information, visit allencontrolsystems.com.

About The Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Electronics Technician to serve as the primary technician hire supporting our Mountain View site and the initial 5-10 engineers stationed there. This is a true jack-of-all-trades role: you'll handle electrical work like harness fabrication and soldering, mechanical work like turret assembly and disassembly, and part-time office management duties like shipping, receiving, and keeping the office organized. As we grow the Silicon Valley location, you’ll transition into a more EE-centric role. You'll need to be comfortable moving fluidly between these responsibilities as the site's needs demand.

This role is based in Mountain View, CA.

What You'll Do:

  • Electrical: Fabricate and terminate cables and wiring harnesses to drawing/spec, and solder and rework electronic components and assemblies.

  • Electrical: Perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of electrical and electronic circuits using standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.

  • Mechanical: Assemble and disassemble robotic systems and subassemblies to access boards, mounting points, and other components for repair, rework, or upgrade.

  • Mechanical: Support basic mechanical integration and fit-up work alongside engineering as needed.

  • Site Support: Send and receive packages and shipments for the site, and help keep the office organized and running smoothly, supporting 5-10 engineers in the SW, EE and ME domains

  • Documentation: Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings; maintain accurate documentation of testing, modifications, and repairs.

What You'll Need:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics assembly, cable/harness fabrication, soldering, and circuit troubleshooting preferred.

  • Comfortable with basic mechanical assembly and disassembly work — using hand tools, following mechanical drawings, and working with fasteners and hardware.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical/engineering drawings.

  • A true jack-of-all-trades mindset — this role blends electrical, mechanical, and light office-management responsibilities, and you'll need to move fluidly between them as the site's primary technical hire.

  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through, since you'll independently manage day-to-day site logistics (shipping/receiving, office upkeep) alongside technical work.

You'll Stand Out:

  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification (or equivalent workmanship training).

  • Experience with ESD-safe handling practices in an electronics assembly environment.

  • Experience working independently at a small or satellite site with minimal on-site technical support.

  • Experience in a defense, aerospace, or other mil-spec manufacturing environment.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary

  • ACS Equity Package

  • Health, Dental, Vision Insurance

  • Paid Time Off

Skills Required

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronics assembly, cable and harness fabrication, soldering, and circuit troubleshooting
  • Basic mechanical assembly and disassembly experience using hand tools, fasteners, hardware, and mechanical drawings
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical or engineering drawings
  • Ability to handle electrical, mechanical, light office-management, and site-support responsibilities
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through for independently managing shipping, receiving, office upkeep, and technical work

  • Experience with ESD-safe handling practices in an electronics assembly environment
  • Experience working independently at a small or satellite site with minimal on-site technical support
