POSITION OVEVIEW
Air Products is growing investments in the Electronics industrial gases market. This includes supply of both atmospheric and specialty gases. Electronic component producers place extremely high demands on suppliers for reliability, product quality, and safe handling across all aspects of production, transportation, and customer delivery. As a supplier, to perform consistently at the highest level requires deep knowledge and experience of the materials, equipment, customer applications, and customer qualification processes. In support of this growth, Air Products is looking to hire an experienced industry expert in Electronics Specialty Gas (ESG) to provide global technical leadership for the company in this dynamic area. The position is based in Asia, primarily supporting regional growth, and will also provide technical leadership to other regions, as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primary ESG technical expert for Air Products.
- Cultivate an elevated level of ESG expertise in Air Products through training and mentoring.
- Provide technical leadership in introduction of new ESG materials and associated equipment, to include gas and equipment supplier qualification and development of site infrastructure including Life Safety, purification, scrubbing, and other forms of waste disposal.
- Active engagement in process safety reviews across all aspects of ESG production, purification, packaging, transportation, through to customer delivery.
- Where necessary, influence and regulation requirements, based on best-in-class process safety science and application.
- Cultivate external technical relationships with ESG suppliers, customers, and regulators in the countries in which Air Products operates.
- Remain current on needs and challenges associated with Air Products ESG installations, by participating in incident root cause investigations, actively participating in equipment development, and understanding of ESG hazard fundamentals.
- Provide technical support to operating sites, troubleshooting issues, improving reliability and safety through deep fundamental understanding of the operating assets.
- Engage closely with the operating team members to drill deep into safety incidents and near misses to proactively identify where future issues could arise.
- Engage with commercial team members in a technical advisory capacity to understand new applications of ESG; work with Engineering, Operations, and Process Safety Teams to assure that Air Products solutions meet customer requirements, regional codes, and standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 15 years demonstrated strong technical capability and experience in ESG.
- Exceptional knowledge of ESG hazards, the equipment and components required to reliably manage these gases, the customer application of these gases, customer qualification requirements, and governing codes and standards.
- Established networks of external contacts across the Electronics industry,
- Demonstrated history successfully taking on new technical challenges.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas, both verbally and written, in a simple effective way to non-experts inside and outside Air Products.
- Self-starter, able to operate effectively without day-to-day supervision.
- Team-player who engages others and works to a common goal.
- Fluent in English language.
