Electronics Engineer
Position Summary, Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Provide electrical design items and own decision making to deliver our next generation of products to timely launch schedules, according to product- and marketing requirements
- Provide creative solutions for simple- to complex engineering and schedule items
- Collaborate extensively with mechanical engineers, product managers, designers, manufacturing and other internal- or external (suppliers) group to ensure successful development and launch of new products
- Maintain regular and consistent communication across teams and reporting of project status, risks, and change control as required
- Lead and manage issue troubleshooting and resolution for the electrical portion component programs
- Prioritize deliverables, tasks, and issues; manage change requests against scheduling and resource constraints
- Support DVT, OOBE, and Regulatory team efforts during the product development cycle
- Provide inputs for the electrical portion of component program development budget and schedule
- Proactively assist with cost reduction programs
- Proactively assist in EE portion of product testing and validation
- Create/Review/Approve EE CAD, BOM, DFM inputs as required
- Support exit meetings, core team meetings, escalation meetings etc.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in engineering analysis, development and documentation
- Direct experience in designing DC electrical circuits
- Direct experience in PCBA design as well as design and implementation of the following or similar technologies:
- USB (full- and low speed) bus design
- RS485 and other serial bus design
- 32-bit ARM Cortex MCU design or similar
- Legacy 8-bit MCU design using 8051 core or similar (Freescale, NPX, Atmel, Cypress, ...)
- Advanced EE CAD skills (Cadence OrCAD, Altium Designer, ...)
- Ability to analyse and interpret options for critical design elements and features and determine optimum selection
- Ability to write documentation, requirements and functional-, design- and test specification documents
- Ability to validate designs
- Ability to develop patentable ideas
- Excellent attention to detail in both design and change management
- Excellent prioritization, problem solving and decision making skills and ability to work with multiple parallel project
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Solid knowledge of basic thermodynamics and heat transfer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant experience
- 3+ Years industry experience
- Simulation software skills (Cadence Pspice or similar) is a plus
- Firmware design knowledge is a plus
- Experience in dealing with and managing OEM/ODM suppliers is a plus
- Experience in dealing with a factory environment is a plus
- Direct experience with product safety, EMC regulatory and qualification processes is a plus
- Fluent in Chinese (spoken/written) is a plus
- PDM/PLM knowledge is a plus
- Solidworks CSWA/CSWP certificate is a plus
- Project management experience is a plus
- Being a PC/Gaming enthusiast is a plus
