The Electromechanical Test Engineer will focus on improving yields and efficiency of our in-line test routines. This engineer will work with our suppliers and engineers to help debug failures and provide solutions in NPI.
Job:
- Troubleshoot and explain Formlabs defined test functions to our manufacturing partners
- Support new product development by ensuring that designs have been reviewed by our manufacturing partners for manufacturability (DFM), test (DFT), and that processes and procedures are adhered to in relation to quality, method, and cost
- Work with EMS suppliers to define and implement manufacturing tests for electrical hardware and software at the board level, module level and system level
- Monitor product/system tests on site at our manufacturing partners
- Create and maintain test documentation (procedures, processes, tools, etc) and work with Formlabs Factory Software team to debug and troubleshoot new tests
- Work to reduce test cycle times via process improvement and test optimization
- Support installation and bring up of test related hardware and computers
- Write queries to help support manufacturing yield dashboards and data collection
- Assist in developing and updating test documents and standard operating procedures
You:

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with 5+ years experience
- Demonstrated technical skills, including experience in manufacturing process debug, mechanical design, or process qualification
- Strong programming skills with SQL and Python and experience in developing scripts and tools
- Experience in Linux (Ubuntu)
- Prior experience working with electromechanical products, consumer products, or industrial automation is a plus
- Work in a high dynamic, fast paced environment. Able to distill ambiguous goals into focused tasks
- Strong English technical communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross functional teams to solve complicated problems
- Extensive experience working as the direct interface to contract manufacturers with new product introductions is required
- Experience in test methodologies and designing custom fixtures and test equipment for manufacturing end of line testing for electromechanical products is required
