Our Albany Plant is located approximately 185 miles south of Atlanta, and manufactures Bounty and Charmin products for the Southeast region of the United States. It’s P&G’s second largest Bounty/Charmin plant and a critical site to the supply chain. The plant went into production in 1972, with significant expansions in the 80s and 90s, and currently has over 650 full time employees split between technicians, managers, and support organizations.
The Role
We are currently looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Site Engineering team. This team focuses on capital projects affecting facilities, construction, utilities, and other total site initiatives. The work schedule is on-site, Monday through Friday. Successful candidates will strategically manage and drive top notch execution of specific project activities. This will vary from a portfolio of smaller projects to full ownership of a larger-scale project. Project budgets range from $100K to $10 million and reflect a mix of self-owned and cross functional, collaborative initiatives. Ultimately, you will help increase the output of our plant! This is an exciting role that will provide a high level of engagement, visibility, and ownership, and will leverage your previous project management and technical experience to help deliver exceptional results for our site and our company.
Site Facilities & Warehouse Automation
- Facilities expansion and upgrades
- Warehouse construction and logistics automation (AGV expansion, automated racking systems, and other material handling / movement initiatives)
- Driving cost savings and sustainability initiatives for site utilities
- Capital procurement
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver projects as a mid-level individual contributor. There will be management of other opportunities down the line for this position, but not within initial role scope.
- Manage strategic projects across site, region, and business unit stakeholders.
- Create front end technical base plans.
- Partner with a central project delivery team based in Cincinnati.
- Prepare project timelines inclusive of key project milestones, providing transparency to the project team(s) and communicating with cross-functional teams.
- Manage risks and define resolution strategies while creating clarity in ambiguous situations.
- Develop new processes and routines for increased visibility and accountability.
- Report on project progress and communicate relevant information to manager & leadership.
- Develop a deep understanding of site electrical systems including site specific facilities electrical distribution systems, PLCs, drives, operator interfaces, and network architectures. This knowledge will be applied to the successful implementation of new project scope.
- Lead critical troubleshooting, defect handling, and loss elimination efforts for the site.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- 0-5 years of relevant project engineering experience
- BS or MS in an Electrical Engineering, an electrically related technical degree, or relevant electrical experience (including military service)
- Demonstrated portfolio and project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Financial and budget management experience
- Multi-functional team leadership experience
- Demonstrated technical mastery, leadership, & collaboration skills
- Understanding of NEC (National Electric Code)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Understanding of basic electrical safety (energy isolation, protective devices, etc.)
Preferred:
- Prior manufacturing industry experience
- Project manager certifications like CAPM, PMP, etc
- Prior electrical engineering experience including familiarity with facilities electrical distribution systems, PLCs, drives, operator interfaces, and network architectures.
- Previous electrical training & qualifications (electrical license)
