Job Summary
The Electrical Engineer (NPDI ECAD) is responsible for designing electrical part for Switchboard / Switchgear product lines. The Electrical Engineer supports the design from start to finish and provides technical guidance to Supply chain and Material Management in global and local locations to support New Product Development and sustaining products. The Electrical Engineer works with local and global teams both within Vertiv.
Responsibilities:
- Designs control system and low voltage electrical enclosures
- Support electrical design for new product development.
- Creating and maintain components in the design tools.
- Working with contract resources and/or manufacturers for prototype/production builds
- Develop test case for electrical safety test of product
- Responsible for coordinate for CE / UL testing of product
- Collaborates with other groups, including Mech Engineers, firmware & software developers, system test, customer support, and manufacturing.
Requirements:
- Good knowledge on working with DC / AC Power Equipment, mainly, 24V – 48Vdc / 400V-3ph-50Hz / 480V-3Ph-60Hz
- 2-3 years of experience in an control wiring design and implementation
- 2-3 years of experience using Electrical panel Life cycle management or Product documentation management tools.
- Proficiency in writing functional requirements and documenting designs.
- Experience with ELCAD schematic or similar tools.
- Ability to debug, validate, and develop/support manufacturing tests in electrical equipment.
- Experience in design for testability and manufacturability.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary.
- Effective team member, consistent positive attitude, creativity.
- Travel Required: 10%
