Visionary Electrical Solutions, an affiliate of USESI, is seeking an experienced Electrical Prefabrication Designer to design prefabricated branch-wire electrical systems for residential and commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for reviewing construction documents, drawings, and specifications and converting project requirements into accurate, buildable prefabricated electrical system designs.

This position plays a key role in improving installation efficiency, standardization, quality, and jobsite productivity through well-designed prefabricated solutions. Projects include multi-family, hotels, schools, medical office buildings (MOBs), hospitals, and other commercial facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review residential and commercial construction documents, including plans, specifications, schedules, and related project information
  • Design prefabricated branch-wire electrical systems based on project requirements, code requirements, and installation best practices
  • Interpret architectural, electrical, and reflected ceiling plans to determine system layouts, device locations, circuiting concepts, and installation requirements
  • Develop accurate and practical prefabrication designs that can be efficiently manufactured and installed in the field
  • Identify opportunities to standardize and optimize electrical system designs for prefabrication
  • Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, production teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure designs are complete and constructible
  • Coordinate design details with customer requirements, field conditions, and project schedules
  • Resolve design, constructability, and installation issues prior to fabrication and delivery
  • Support continuous improvement of prefab design standards, processes, and documentation
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across all assigned projects

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong ability to read and interpret residential and commercial construction drawings, electrical plans, and project specifications
  • Working knowledge of electrical installation methods, materials, and applicable code requirements
  • Strong understanding of branch wiring systems and typical residential and commercial electrical layouts
  • Ability to translate field experience into practical, buildable prefabrication designs
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with computer-based design and document review tools, including Bluebeam, Word, and Excel

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of electrical field experience in residential or commercial construction
  • Field experience in multi-family, hotel, or hospitality projects strongly preferred
  • Experience with electrical prefabrication, modular electrical assemblies, or off-site construction methods strongly preferred
  • Experience coordinating with production or manufacturing teams strongly preferred

Pay Range

$80,000 per year
