ABOUT THE JOB

As an Electrical Engineering Manager you will perform the systems engineering function by writing and allocating requirements. You will design and develop the safety-critical circuitry to be used in Ignition Safety Devices (ISD) and Electronic Safe and Arm Devices (ESAD). You will specify and be responsible for the testing of ISDs and ESADs, including environmental testing. In addition to EE tasks you will provide technical and project execution leadership to ISD and ESAD programs throughout their lifecycle, from cradle-to-grave. The right person for this role has direct, hands-on experience with the development of ISD, ESAD’s and related devices from concept to production, deep technical understanding of ISD and ESAD design and production, and excellent project management skills. If you are a hands-on leader, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and enjoy being the point person for getting a project across the finish line, then this role is for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Systems Engineering: Execute systems engineering functions for ISDs and ESADs, collaborating with peers and cross-discipline teams.
  • Design & Integration: Lead design reviews and partner with electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to bring embedded control electronics from concept to production—including hardware selection, schematic & PCB design, board bring-up, and system integration.
  • Program Support & Planning: Drive ISD and ESAD programs from concept to production by contributing to program planning and execution.
  • Team Leadership: Manage day-to-day interdisciplinary technical teams while handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Diagnose and resolve issues crossing electrical and software disciplines using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs) and software debugging tools.
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Thrive in a dynamic setting supporting new developments, active deployments, and customer-operated hardware.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years in ISDs, ESADs, or similar devices
  • Technical expertise in high voltage circuitry design (up to 2kV), power management and supply design, and proficient with Altium Designer (or equivalent)
  • Systems Engineering: Skilled in risk and requirements management
  • Test & Troubleshooting: Experienced in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers, current probes, and test automation
  • Communication & Organization: Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel for customer, safety board, and test reviews; thrives in fast-paced environments
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with the design and development of safety-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with software development processes and tools such as git, Github, JIRA, etc
  • Experience with developing for a safety-critical environment
  • Experience working on products used in tough environments (automotive, aerospace, defense, etc.)
