This role is not Hybrid or remote, must be available to work in Bloomingdale, IL location

Del Medical is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead electrical engineering development and support across our medical imaging product portfolio.

This is an opportunity for a technically strong engineering leader who enjoys developing people, making critical design decisions, and remaining engaged in complex engineering challenges. You will help guide the development, integration, testing, and improvement of electrical and electronic systems supporting diagnostic X-ray equipment and related technologies.

We are looking for more than a project manager. Our ideal candidate understands electrical design firsthand, can evaluate technical decisions, and knows how to guide engineers toward practical, reliable, manufacturable solutions.

What You'll Lead

Electrical Design & Product Development

  • Lead electrical engineering activities from concept development through design, verification, product release, and lifecycle support.
  • Oversee electrical circuit design, PCB development, component selection, electronic interfaces, and subsystem integration.
  • Review schematics, circuit designs, PCB layouts, test plans, and engineering documentation.
  • Provide technical direction for power electronics, power supplies, control circuits, and associated electronic systems.
  • Collaborate with embedded software engineers to integrate firmware, electronic hardware, and system controls.

X-Ray Systems & Technical Problem-Solving

  • Provide engineering oversight for electrical systems used in diagnostic X-ray equipment and related medical imaging technologies.
  • Support generator electronics, high-voltage subsystems, power conversion, and system-level electrical integration, as applicable.
  • Lead root-cause investigations involving electrical failures, product performance, and hardware integration.
  • Evaluate design trade-offs involving reliability, performance, component availability, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Ensure appropriate design controls, testing practices, and electrical safety considerations are incorporated into engineering work.

Engineering Team Leadership

  • Establish engineering priorities, project assignments, schedules, and technical expectations.
  • Coach and develop electrical engineers, strengthening their technical skills and accountability.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide guidance on complex technical decisions.
  • Coordinate engineering resources across product development, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate project status, technical risks, resource needs, and major engineering decisions to company leadership.

Testing, Quality & Manufacturing

  • Oversee electrical testing, design verification, reliability investigations, and engineering validation activities.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams on applicable medical-device requirements, design controls, risk management, and technical documentation.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Service to resolve production issues, field failures, and recurring product defects.
  • Support engineering change orders, corrective actions, component qualification, and design-for-manufacturability initiatives.
  • Improve documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and engineering release processes.

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent relevant engineering experience.
  • Typically 7+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience, including demonstrated technical leadership and project ownership.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical circuit design, analog and digital electronics, and electronic troubleshooting.
  • Experience with schematics, PCB design or review, component selection, and hardware testing.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide engineering projects, resolve complex technical issues, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • A practical, accountable leadership style that balances technical quality with project delivery.

Highly desirable experience:

  • Diagnostic X-ray equipment, medical imaging systems, X-ray generators, or high-voltage electronics.
  • Power electronics, power conversion, electronic control systems, or specialized electrical subsystems.
  • PCB design tools such as Altium Designer.
  • Embedded systems, microcontrollers, motor-control electronics, and hardware-software integration.
  • Medical-device design controls, verification and validation, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, and applicable IEC 60601 requirements.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or developing electrical engineering personnel.
  • Experience with FMEA, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and product reliability improvement.

What Makes This Opportunity Different?

  • Technical influence: Help shape electrical engineering design decisions and product development priorities.
  • Leadership with substance: Guide engineers while remaining engaged in meaningful technical work.
  • Product impact: Contribute to the performance, reliability, and quality of medical imaging equipment.
  • Cross-functional responsibility: Work directly with software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and product teams.
  • Competitive compensation: Earn $135,000–$165,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • STD, LTD, Life and AD&D Insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Paid time off, including holidays and vacation.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.

Who Will Succeed Here?

You are an engineering leader who combines technical credibility with sound judgment and the ability to develop people. You can evaluate a circuit design, challenge an engineering assumption, guide a root-cause investigation, and help your team deliver a reliable solution.

You are organized, decisive, collaborative, and comfortable balancing long-term product development with immediate engineering and production needs.

Candidates whose experience is limited to facilities electrical work, building systems, or project coordination without electronics design and troubleshooting experience are unlikely to be a fit.
