The Electrical Engineer – HVAC/Chillers, will support the electrical design implementation, local (regional) procurement of components, local assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of customized industrial chiller systems. The role requires close coordination with the headquarters Engineering team in Europe and with the local Procurement, Production and Testing teams to ensure that all electrical aspects of the machines are correctly assembled, tested, and compliant with applicable standards and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Interpretation & Localization
o Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts provided by the HQ Technical Office in Europe.
o Identify and address gaps and inconsistencies in design documentation.
o Adapt electrical designs to suit local standards, installation practices and available materials, where applicable and subject to HQ approval.
Technical Support to Production
o Provide on-site technical support to the production team during electrical installation and assembly of chillers, including control panels, cable routing, and equipment wiring.
o Assist the production team in verifying the correct implementation of wiring diagrams and electrical layouts
o Act as the technical liaison between the HQ Engineering team and the local Production team to resolve electrical queries and issues.
Manufacturing Documentation & Drawing Control
o Prepare and maintain updated electrical drawings, wiring lists and assembly instructions for use by Production and Testing teams.
o Coordinate change requests with HQ to update formal design documents and revisions.
Design for Local Supply Chain Integration
o Review electrical BOMs and components specifications to identify items that can be sourced locally without compromising quality, function and safety.
o Coordinate with the Procurement team and HQ to evaluate and approve equivalent local components.
o Maintain documentation and traceability for approved substitutions.
Support to Testing and Commissioning
o Assist the Testing team during system dry-test and performance-test of the assembled machines.
o Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues including power faults, sensor misreads, safety circuit errors, and control logic failures.
Quality and Standards Compliance
o Ensure all electrical work conforms to applicable standards and internal quality requirements.
o Participate in quality reviews and contribute to improvement of electrical design.
Communication & Coordination
o Communicate effectively with the HQ Technical Office in Europe regarding design modifications, technical clarifications, and engineering feedback.
o Proactively provide feedback on recurring issues, assembly constraints, and opportunities for design improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC, industrial chillers, or other industrial machinery
Prior chiller or sub-component engineering or manufacturing experience will be highly regarded
Proficiency in Autocad (including Electrical module) and possibly SolidWorks or Solid Edge.
Strong knowledge of control panels, motor starters, VFDs, sensors, relays, safety circuits, and power distribution
Familiarity with PLCs and control logic is a strong advantage
Knowledge of IEC, UL and local Thai electrical standards (Professional Engineer license is a plus)
Hands-on experience with electrical troubleshooting and commissioning
Good English communication (spoken and written) for coordination with HQ and drafting technical documentation
Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork skills
