Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyzes and uses Electrical design principles, standards, analytics and concepts to design and integrate new and existing technology into lift trucks in line with project objects
Maintains and improves to new and existing lift truck electrical, software and control systems
Addresses and meets defined Electrical design targets under consideration of given budgets, resources, specifications and (customer) expectation
Applies risk analysis and advanced trouble shooting techniques to prevent and or tackle problems with new and existing Lift truck systems
Plans, designs, and facilitates electrical development and integration projects; organizes respective resources and helps to evaluate progress
Designs and creates drawings for electrical wiring harnesses, power cables, electrical components, including design drawings and schematics
Checks work of other electrical engineers and technicians and gives technical advice as the need arises
Assesses opportunities and risks for completing development of solutions in time and budget and within regulatory requirements
Helps to develop and refine company electrical design standards
Coordinates work with, Testing, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Support, Purchasing as well as suppliers on product design problems, quality issues, product improvements as well as cost reductions
Trouble shoots and solves issues in prototype as well as on production lift trucks
Qualifications:
3+ years electrical design experience (mobile equipment focus preferred)
Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering design principles, concepts, practices and theories
Experience with design and validation of electrical wiring harnesses, components and systems
Experience with regulatory standards
Experience designing with CAD (2D & 3D), preferably E3 and Unigraphics
Knowledge or experience with vehicle CAN communication protocols and embedded software
Knowledge of functional safety standards and application
Communicate effectively through all levels of the organization
Effective collaboration skills with diverse, and multinational colleagues
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required
