Summary Generated by Built In

At Serve Robotics, we’re reimagining how things move in cities. Our personable sidewalk robot is our vision for the future. It’s designed to take deliveries away from congested streets, make deliveries available to more people, and benefit local businesses.

The Serve fleet has been delighting merchants, customers, and pedestrians along the way in Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta and Chicago while doing commercial deliveries. We’re looking for talented individuals who will grow robotic deliveries from surprising novelty to efficient ubiquity.

Who We Are

We are tech industry veterans in software, hardware, and design who are pooling our skills to build the future we want to live in. We are solving real-world problems leveraging robotics, machine learning and computer vision, among other disciplines, with a mindful eye towards the end-to-end user experience. Our team is agile, diverse, and driven. We believe that the best way to solve complicated dynamic problems is collaboratively and respectfully.

Responsibilities

  • Design and validate electrical circuits, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and interconnect systems for autonomous robotic platforms.

  • Develop schematics, component selections, and electrical designs that meet product performance, reliability, and cost requirements.

  • Support PCB layout reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturable and maintainable designs.

  • Perform bring-up, validation, and characterization of new electrical hardware in partnership with firmware and software teams.

  • Troubleshoot electrical and system-level issues and conduct structured root cause analysis to identify and resolve failures.

  • Develop and execute test plans to verify electrical subsystem performance and reliability.

  • Contribute to prototype development, hardware integration, and system testing activities throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Partner with manufacturing teams, vendors, and suppliers to support builds, issue resolution, and design improvements.

  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, test results, and design records to support product development and manufacturing.

  • Provide occasional onsite support for prototype builds, manufacturing activities, and engineering validation efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the design and test of electrical systems in the robotics, consumer electronics, or other applicable fields

  • Hands-on experience in debugging and testing electrical subsystems using typical lab equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, spectrum analyzer, electronic load, etc.)

  • Experience designing, integrating, and debugging embedded systems

  • Experience in hardware prototype bring-up, debug, fault detection, and failure analysis

  • Experience in one of the major ECAD tools (Altium preferred)

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with high speed circuits and signal integrity measurements

  • Experience in debugging common interfaces (e.g. CAN, SPI, UART, I2C, USB)

  • Experience developing software scripts (Python, Bash) for automating hardware tests

  • Experience in testing for EMC/EMI compliance

  • Familiarity with the Nvidia Jetson platform

  • Experience with one or more sensor modalities (e.g. camera, LiDAR, radar, ultrasonic)

  • Experience with cellular networking

  • Experience with cable harness design

  • Experience working with factory support and overseas vendor partnerships

  • Experience in working with internal and external developers, test teams, lab technicians

Additional Information

This role may require occasional travel to support prototype builds, manufacturing activities, supplier engagement, and engineering validation efforts. Candidates should be comfortable working in laboratory, development, and manufacturing environments as needed.
